Disturbing...
..for the narrow minded kids out there who think this thread is going to be about some random teenager dismembering his family, alt+backspace should be pressed...hmmmm......now.
For those who have a fear about your internet 'security', homeland rights, detention of those who question the 'what, who, why, wheres' regarding terrorist activity, providing you conclude your thoughts and queries with something that has a negative reflection on your (US) government and an absolute fear about what the future holds - this won't cheer you up:-
http://www.rense.com/general69/bsmyst.htm (warning - for morons only - it's long read, clicking it will probably break your mind).
I don't know when that was uploaded, rense.com isn't exact on it's updates, but some of the points raised are pretty disturbing.
Anyway, I'm just wondering what other people think about some of the issues in the article....

heh, you americans are living in a neo-facist regime. Too bad most of you don't know it yet. Freedom of speech is labeled "anti-patriotistic activity"

Rense.com is a fucking pit of hippy sin. Look at the goddamn ads - psychic pills, ESP pills, hippy pills, cure your calcification (the new "toxins"), protect yourself from electromagnetic fields, read about nanobacteria etc.
The site boasts "7 time Peabody Award nominee". That's not very hard, and the same reason that Tookie Williams was 'nominated' for the fucking Nobel Peace Prize - "Entries may be submitted by any person or organization wishing to direct the attention of the Peabody Board to a meritorious program, series, individual or organization. " i.e. big fucking deal.
That's not to criticise the quality of the article because it appears on such a shitheap of a site - it's been posted everywhere in the last few days, like truthout.org and consortiumnews.com, and it's simply being reproduced on rense.com. But in future, it's safest to get your journalism from somewhere more respectable.
To the charges in themselves? Nothing particularly new. Graham is a nutjob, Halliburton love a good glad-handing, and put that together with the recent civil liberties trampling that you happy Yankees get and there you have it - what a scoop!
Rule #1: Never, ever trust a partisan.

Don't get me wrong, I'm just a little concerned where your country is going. Seeing how the style of governance Bush W. is going, I can real picture it being a few well placed strategic steps away from totalitarian.
Point being made, your administration is making some mighty attempts to hide its true intent, and has succesfully crossed the lines in both international laws and many of your precious constitutional rights with impunity, voiding any kind of value it has.
I know, it's all far fetched, but don't come crying when someone proclaims himself "imperator for live" in the next ten years and people will be put against the walls in the very neigbourhood you live in.
It's not so much Bush you should be worried about, it's the persons reaping what Bush has sown in the future.
There are a few historical precedents, but I donīt think anyone cares enough for me to elaborate.

Well sure...you're correct....but when I see my fellow citizens so ignorant to the facts and care more about their cellphone contract than the state of the Union....I gave up caring as I cant do anything about it.

brains i wouldnt argue with bia if i were you
it isnt bush that im afraid of so much, i agree with brains on this one, whats much more troubling would be if republicans continued to obtain power. i'm not so concerned about people voting in republicans (history shows that people swing from one extreme to the other regarding voting) but bush is capable of installing little republican hot pockets all over the place that we can't do much about

Anybody with a decent knowledge of American history will know that we've got a national fascination with fascism. A lot of the country is more tendential to fascism than we'd like to think. But there is an equally strong attraction to a certain type of socialism, and most of American politics is a dialectic between these two poles. So we have Roosevelt socialism followed by HUAC fascism, the JFK and LBJ stabs at socialism followed by Nixon's quasi-police state, Clinton and now this. We'll either swing back in a president or two or collapse politically or financially; in either case I don't think we'll go all the way in either direction without dissolving politically.
Arguing civilly with Bia is fine. Arguing uncivilly with Bia is fine. Following her or anyone else around and trying to start shit isn't fine.

Is there a well developed nation that holds the workers on the highest level?
Or a political ideology?
I am always yelling about the hardest workers should get the biggest rewards....instead of CEOs and Lawyers and the like.
I know my ideal is full of flaws but it sure would be nice if a carpenter or sanitation worker didnt have to struggle so hard for his family while a dentist or interior designer has everything he wants and more.

Altough I like your idea, there is a reason why those people get paid more..
They studied (or studied longer), wich costs a sum of cash, and effort
and they have more responsibities.. meaning if a plumber does a shoddy job, your toilet is broken.. if a doctor does a shoddy job, you die. If a manager does a shoddy job, millions of $$ is lost. Thats some weight on ones shoulders maybe..
It's hardly justice, that hard working people have to crawl on their bellies just to feed their families, but the reason capitalism seems to work is because it's fueled by the coruption of human beings.

what would be the benefit of having a system where neuro surgeons are paid less than or equal to the amount a plumber gets? other than satisfying your righteous power to the working class man lust
