MP3 player help needed

I need to delete some songs off my mp3 player but when I go to delete them it wont let me and says that the media write is protected. I put all the songs on with Windows Media Player and never had any trouble with deleting songs until I upgraded it to Windows Media Player 10. Does anyone know a way I can remove the media write or bypass it?
