Cheney shoots man in the face
Best part is, I'm not even joking.
Long story short, he was hunting quail and shotgunned someone in the gob. This story has been building for a couple of days now... Either it's going to fade away quickly or it's going to be HY-UGE.

I've got two friends that are professional shooters, and one has a teaching degree for shotguns (or something along those lines) and he said it really isn't a huge deal and has happened to him more times than he can count. Apparently, since it was spread and at a distance, it wasn't a fatal issue. The problem is that he's old.

How did your friends get shot in the face with buckshot, Dyldo? Something about bird-hunting (where you point a 2 1/2 foot or longer shotgun up at a bunch of birds you've just scared off of the ground) and being accidentally shot in the face doesn't add up to me, but it might just be that I've never gone shotgunning birds.

He's never been shot in the face, but has had plenty of spray catch him and has seen one or two people get sprayed in the neck and cheek.

I still have a problem with it, especially as the version I've read claims that the Cheney friend just walked into the shot. Cheny's 5'10, a shotgun is around 30" long, and he was, unless I'm wrong, shooting up in the sky (think of how you shoot clay pigeons). That should not add up to somebody being shot in the face.

However, they have fucking excellent sources and in the past have shown a quite alarming tendency to be right about these sorts of things.
If Cheney was drunk, it explains all the glaring inconsistencies in the story very well indeed. And also why people were so adamant that there was NO ALCOHOL INVOLVED, before even being questioned on it.
