What is the deal with this anyhow? Is there anyone on hear that subscribes to satelitte radio? I really want to try it out, but there is such a lack of portable players/home audio currently, I don't really know if it would be worth it..I want to get sirius, for there death metal channel, news and mainly..HOWARD STERN! There is supposed to be zero advertising, yet only 60 of the 100 stations sirius produces applys to this rule. Thoughts, comments, suggestions.

Well I have Dish network and the gives you sirius radio along with all your channels. About the only thing I listen to is hard attack. Which imo sucks most of the time.

They have a huge selection of other stuff though so if you like a great variety of music then yes. If all you are looking for is heavy stuff. Save your money.

One of the Djs played a wicked wisdom song some other I wasn't listening. Sometime earlier today he had two pissed off callers. One of them. "was like What The Fuck. It's bad enough you already play that Everytime I Die shit. Play some real fucking music. Like Children of Bodom."

Oh yeah they played a bodom song too. I forget what it was but it was off their new album. so you know it sucked. The good thing is late at night when people are asleep they have this thing where they play nothing but death, black, grind and whatever else. I'm usually watching something on tv by then though.

Hmm, thanks for the information..yah, I was refering to Hard Attack...I would like to expand my musical tastes though, perhaps this sort of radio may assist that(my gf got me on to Neil Young, wooo!)..basically the only reason I want it is for Howard Stern..his show starts playing in Canada on Monday!

Then I figure I don't know how often I'd listen to radio..at work I would but I've only seen one portable sirius radio player and it was $350..

Well Hard attack is usually crap. Occasionally you get some good music. They have stations for old rock too. That play hendrix and stuff of that sort. All the way to 80s hair metal. Lots of good stuff minus most of the metal.

Do you listen to any of the talk/news programs? I'm interested in the 5-6 CBC channels..but I presume you don't get those in that states.

Well, I guess Stern and Sirius are pissed off because his show is on different pirating net sites shortly after his broadcasts. You might check into that. Personally I would swat a bull in the ass with him. I'd rather Dr. C got a show. At least there'd be some intelligence in it.

As XTRA-LBS says, Howard Stern's new shows are being heavily pirated, and the sites pop up as soon as they can be shut down. I don't listen to that shit, I read it on wired.com somewhere. I am not posting links to said shows because it is illegal and naughty.

wally's buddy had it in his car and the comedy stuff was funny. There's internet places that do the same thing, but I forgot to ask my kid how to find them before he left. Woe is me.

My brother had Sirius for a while, heard about two good songs on there. Every now and then you'll come across a good song, and as for the comedy stations, they would give you about five minutes of actual commedy and then two hours of stupid prank calls by people with the most annoying voices imaginable. Plus, the audio quality is shit. You're much better off getting an MP3 capable CD player for your car, my buddy got one and I'm gonna get one as soon as my warranty goes out. It's really a great thing, he's got all his Megadeth songs on one CD, how fucking awesome is that? Very awesome.
