i'm not sure if anybody heard about this, but there is a big international riot going on about.... cartoons!

and on this link you can see the cartoons halfway across the page. It doesn't seem that provocative to me tough.

The situation is escalating so much, that Arabic countries are boycotting Danish products, an armed group of the "al-aqsa brigade" stormed an EU office in Palestina demanding that the 12 cartoonists be "punished", all Danes are in danger there.

Now even the rest of the EU are getting involved, they are backing up Denmark in the claim that, everything was published under the freedom of speech, and this is not how democracy works.

Can you see the world burn because of some satirical cartoons?

Those arab cunts have now started to burn the Norwegian flag too, cause some small paper in the middel if nowhere printed that cartoon too. It really is fucking ridicolous, especially with the muslims who have immigrated to the western society. If they want to live here, they need to accept the terms of living here, not just belive they can come here and think they`ll have their own (more or less) civilised arabia.

Well, they were saying on one of the news networks yesterday that Adult Swim's "Boondocks" is getting flak for using the "n" word on the show. One group says it's degrading, but the author said that's not his agenda. I bet the ratings viewers go up with the publicity now.

If I've found anything offensive it was that damn show that was on last night about the bombers on the flight. It was getting too unnerving for me. The guys watched it and I watched Good Times. That would have been banned nowadays for not being politically correct, but it tells it like it is about some tough issues. (And about a 10 year old Janet Jackson has been on there lately.)

Cartoons of Muhammad don't have to be particularly provocative; they're absolutely banned from rendering likenesses of him, so even a very respectful rendering is considered extremely blasphemous and disrespectful. There are some very cool paintings from the Muslim tradition in which Muhammad and Allah are represented by abstract and geometric shapes, but that's neither here nor there.

Everybody who's ever said 'nigger' gets flak for it, but it's easy to ignore. You can say what you want on cable TV until the FCC actually succeeds in getting jurisdiction over that, so let them complain. The great thing about America is that for all the PC faggotry we try to enforce there will always be private citizens with the means and desire to be offensive.

This entire thing seems like bullshit, especially if they apologized. No group should be able to bully its way to an unfair advantage. I guess, though, that the group of cartoonists should have expected this response and not been willing to involve themselves in the project unless they were willing to go all the way down the line. There's no point in making a statement only to immediately retract it. Muslims are notorious for having no sense of humor and calling down the Rapture on people who make them look bad (how have we so quickly forgotten Salman Rushdie?), so if you're going to take a stand against them you have to be equally serious. Being offensive without being willing to accept the consequences doesn't really sit well with me. Fortunately, fundamentalist terror tactics sit even more poorly.

i'm sure it's kinda obscure for non-Dutch people, but last year well known Dutch cinemagrapher & columnist was murdered by a radicla Islamist in the middle of the street in broad daylight because he found his columns and a certain movie "offensive"
