So I have around $400 and I'm looking into some amps, but I'm way over my head.

Currently, I only have a 25w, and I can't hear myself over our drummer, but I've been too poor lately to upgrade it.

So I'm in need of a 65w+ amp, around or under $400, that goes well with thrash/power/prog metal.

BTW: How powerful an amp would I need to start doing gigs w/ my band? It'll be awhile, but I'm just curious as to whether I should wait and upgrade to something of that power, or go with one now.

60 watts of tube amp should be enough, provided there are some mic'ing and P.A. possibilities
