Many people post on other forums. The only two I have time for any more are at the Darwin Awards, which has smart people, and Portal of Evil, which has evil people.
I'd love to post at other metal forums, but there's a problem: the vast majority of metalheads on the internet are livestock-grade fuckwits. In short, there are no other good ones. At least, that I know of.
Witness this thread from Ultimate Metal, for example. That is the sort of thing that passes for normal elsewhere. If that had been here...

As for other forums, the only one I've ever really been a big part of would be the Metal and Guitar forums on Bolt.com. Its some stupid teen place that I found through Hotmail (had a link or some stupid shit) when I was like, TWELVE. AgentOrange posted there too, back in the day.
I just don't have the time to sit around and do this shit like I used to.

I'm not big on screamo at ALL, but Post Hardcore is pretty cool. Its basically uh. Little lighter than hardcore, and with more melody. I dunno. The chick was hot anyway.

Count me in. I was a member of World of Gore long before I ever posted. I was a lurker during the first WoG site, but now I feel a need to post and add there.

I mod at tabcrawler.com and right now I'm the only mod that can do anything there. It's been rocky lately with equipment trouble and stuff I don't quite understand, but that's neither here nor there.
I also have an account at recipezaar and bodybuilding.com, but I rarely post at those.
Of the music sites out there, tabcrawler and metaltabs are the best to me. They're the friendliest and most helpful with the coolest bunch of people. Even with the brainiacs.

I modded UG for quite a while, problem is, I'm not online enough to effeciently mod there, UG has 260.000+ members, it's a big and busy forum.
I modded gear, bass, metal and hardcore forums over there.
I quit because it became a drag and well, I didn't have time for it. I hardly have time to keep up with metaltabs.
Other forums that I visit every now and then, like once a week or less;
www.asice.net (THE Dutch underground hardcore/metalcore forum, the whole scene basically revolves around it.)
www.cb1100f.net (a forum about Honda CB1100f's. I'm rebuilding one of these 80's superbikes..) |

Forums are time suckers. Besides this, I've only really posted some questions on a Cubase forum, the old Cephalic board, and a few on SMN. That Darwin board looks good. ...Muuuuust resist!

Man, I musta missed this post. I just really started using it more. It was just a resource forum, but now I post a couple posts. Alot of dumbasses there, also what's up with the server? It must be just a giant POS 386x running Win95 or something. Almost half the time I visit during peaks of 2 - 5, I get the "come back later, server load is full" message. What a crock! But....there's also over 260,000+ members like you said. Maybe they should accept donations to boost the sever load capacity.

ive tried others. truth is, metaltabs was my first, and its either the best ive been to, or just what im accustomed to. plus, these forum seems to have a better flow of posts. a couple others ive been to were just dead, or i didnt stick around long enough. i can say that i cant relate to most people here about music, but to me this is more like when you have friends at school... you know, you never really hang out with them outside of school, but when youre there they are as cool as the friends you hang with. anyway, the poll looks a little strange now, so i wont vote. but im guessing it didnt start that way. |

Other than this, only the Megadeth message board. Pretty cool little forum, but the Total Anarchy forum has lately become infested with self righteous all knowing experts on religion and everything else, so I mainly stick to the Musicians forum. Some pretty cool people dwell there every now and again.
I used to fequent webmastertalk.com, but I lost a design contest, (which I should have won, damn it), and my massive ego hasn't allowed me to bo back much any more.
