ive had mine for a year and its quite literally changed my life. its not something to be cool and trendy, but its amazing beyond words. 40 gigs of my music all at my hands is not an "overrated piece of garbage"

Calm down tranny. And umm, I have an iPod and I willl swear that it is not amazing beyond words. The songs pause randomly without warning most of the time and the scroll wheel locks up, and this has not even been dropped or heavily misused

your ipod is pausing because you arent using good headphones. the plug is too long and that causes it to pause all the time. dont worry, i had that problem for a good 5 months before i figured it out. try using the earbuds that came with it

also, ipods and mp3 players are not meant to be as sturdy as cd players. you have to be careful with them. that being said mine is in perfect condiiton becasue i wear mine on a case on my belt. nerdy, but i never had to get a new one or anything. you have to be careful with new technology, thats all

I've had my iPod for two years now (20 GB), and I've barely had an issue with it at all. Everyone else seems to have theirs die on them pretty quickly though. Don't make 'em like thet used to I guess.

At the time I bought it, I would have laughed at the prospect of actually filling it up, but I'm nearly there. Only 1 GB to go damnit.

They are pretty cool I guess. I'm dreading the day when the battery finally just gives up on me.

I loaded one of my friends up with songs today...and it can play videos too. Thats pretty cool to have like gone and 60 seconds and some porn in the palm of my hands...along with all my god damn music....seems like the vids eat the battery though.

hrmm. my battery is starting to go. once your ipod starts to skip right over songs that means that the battery is dying

Thats because you insist on 320 kbps mp3s with titles like I Troldsvokskorgendens Vondreksylventill Den Fyillfjordlestinjensenbyurg Fjleoysjleskorgogenarcagorlith

My version of portable porn is an imagination...

Hmm...what are you going to do when the battery does die out? Replace it!?

Wrong, and the same goes for any MP3 player. Instead of carrying hundreds and hundreds of CDs worth hunderds and hundreds of dollars around with me, just waiting to be stolen/lost, I can carry a 200ish dollar device with me that carries all that and more. If I lose it, oh well. At least I still have all my CDs safe at home. I don't think you can argue with that.

I've had mine for a little more than a year and have never had a problem with it. I wouldn't doubt that there are alot of faulty iPods out there, being that they are so mass produced, but I'm sure theres some kind of trade in deal. I've heard there are better products out there, but I recieved it as a present and have never really looked.

I'm way behind the times and have only heard of them but never knew anyone with one..

Ooh, well I can't say much since I bought my MP3 player two years ago and have no idea what the current average price on them is, but I will recommend you go for something other than an Ipod. The main reason? Ipods do not have a replacable battery, and when it dies you're basically fucked.

i like the creative mp3 players. i have a really small one and its never messed up. im savin for the big one though. the use the same barely touch the keypad thing as the ipod. and all that. and i think has replacable batteries. theres also diff kinds of mps player. the hard drive kinda which can skip, or flash kind.

The 512MB shuffles go for about $100. Anywhere from $200 - $400 for the 20GB - 40GB. $400 models have the video playback capabilities. That's just ballpark figures too.

Thumbs up

i have this no big brand name mp3 player with 1 gb storage

PLUS POINT: price is somewhat 250 dhs thats around 70$
the sound quality is excellent
the best feature is that it has a usb charging slot so everytime i connected it to the comp it automatically gets recharged
plus connect it to the comp for around half an hour and it goes on and on for 8 hrs nearly (u get a usb adaptor in the case too..... so if u dont have a pc around u, u can still recharge it)
plus the size is so small it fits into a matchbox
has a built in mic
u can play the recordings and songs on different speed (tempo) without affecting the tone (like e note will still sound like the e note not someting lower or higher)
MINUS POINT:the display is monochromatic (like the old nokia phone with blue back light)
the keys are not like ipod's touch and go scroller
doesnt look all that attractive(but who cares)
only 1 gb model available

well the minus points dont really count in front of the advantages .... thats why i gave up the idea of buying an ipod after i got this
(i guess the company is touchmate, if any of u wanna search for it)
