clarification on pantera needed
i dont know if this goes here but i need a little clarification here
i was reading and i found this
On their Pantera's Web site, Anselmo puts it in his own words:
We've survived every fucking trend. Heavy metal, grunge metal, funk metal, rap metal - and we're still here. We put everyone on notice that we don't fuck around. Our fans know we're true right down to the fucking core.
but isn't groove metal (or power groove as they call it) a form of heavy metal

Phil Anselmo is just a dumbass who doesn't know what he's talking about. Sure, Pantera was awesome with Cowboys From Hell, but when they started getting into the nasty "drop-tuned-lower-than-your-grandma's-saggy-tits" stuff, they lost all sorts of credibility. Why? Drop tune =/= heavy.

I think he's meaning they didn't sellout in their style of metal they played/created. It's pretty much been this groovy thrash style metal from day 1, well cowboys and post.
