I don't have a 360, but when I get one the first thing I'm getting is Oblivion.
I'm over 10 hours into FF12, I fucking love it. LEAGUES better than many rpg's I've played in awhile, and I'm not even really a big fan of the FF series. I beat FF8 and gave up on FF10..only briefly played most of the others.
FF12 is superb though.

How do you win a 360 by accident? Before you buy anything, hook your 360 up to the internet and if you want to play online, get Xbox Live Gold. You'll be able to download demos to see for yourself if you like the games.
Here're a few titles:
Gears of War - If you buy one game, buy this one. The best game on the 360 so far and graphically the most advanced title...EV4R.
Dead Rising - You will love it if you enjoy zombie movies, though the save and progression systems are shit. The whole game's on a timer, and if you miss an essential time-slot, it's game over.
Check out the demos for Just Cause and Crackdown - you might enjoy them.

Saints row for sure. I watched my friends play it for a couple of hours. Looks insanely fun.

I've played Saint's Row at my friend's when it came out. It wasn't that impressive..then again I have over 150 hours saved(spent more time than that) on GTA San Andreas.
I'm thinking about buying a used Xbox 360 when I get my tax return...or perhaps a used bass.

I definitely agree. I loved spending impetuously while having a full time job. I may just blow a few hundred on albums alone.
Hopefully everything is fine with the xbox 360 when you receive it.

i gotta agree with the beast about gears of war..it may be clunky at first, but once you get used to how to utilize your surroundings as cover and the tactical reload you don't even have to look at the hud anymore and it gets thuper fun. well..i thought it was just that fun to begin with, but..i say that in persuading you to get the game.

well there's only ever anything there when you can actually do any of the commands..i liked that, it seemed more real when there weren't gauges and things here and there on my screen. and the chainsaw too.

Man, it's amazing how increasing the difficulty in a game can make it much more fun. I'm playing through the General Challenges on C&C Generals Zero Hour. I love this game again.

I bought SoCom 3 like a month ago and haven't even opened it yet. I probably should. I wish there were more hours in the day so I could do shit that I want to rather than shovel the driveway, work, study etc.

There are plenty of games for the PS2 that makes it worth buying that system. Unless you feel like spending big time bank on a PS3 (i'm getting it in probably over a year from now to maybe 2 years)

Yes, scour eBay for PS2 units with the 'disc read error', i picked up 2 for £20 each (including postage), and within hour of receiving each, i had them working fine... just look on the net for how to adjust the laser

so i have this 8-10 minute speech to give on the 12th, the monday after spring break. naturally, i choose to do mine on online gaming. for my visual aid i'm using a clip from the halo 2 special edition dvd thank lucifer for special editions. even though the gears of war dvd is too brutal to show in class heehee.
anyone participating in the halo 3 beta this spring? i know that's old news, but.....well you guys think of something more interesting to talk about!

Do you always take others opinions as your own call? I like to make my own evaluation of things even when it is against the norm. I've found many games that 'suck' to be pretty damn fun. This one's 3rd person view (switchable to 1st), VAST environment, main missions and plenty of side missions, killer authentic old time weapons and items. It even has gambling. Plus you get to ride a fukin horse everywhere! Definitely worth a play!

He probably played it on the 360, which has the worst graphics of any 360 title. I suggest you rent it. The two days spent getting 1000 achievement points are pretty enjoyable.

i don't exactly have the financial resources to buy games i'm not sure about..plus, not many of my local friends play video games, and i never rent anything. he had rented it too so i couldn't borrow it from him. anyway, when i wanna ride a horse i either go to the stables or play zelda.

I hate horses. They should should have a horse rifle season, just like they do for the deer.

I'm not a horse person either. They're too dangerous and unpredictable to me. I've heard of way too many people getting hurt on them. Nearly every person i know that has spent any time around horses has had shit like them fall on them and shatter bones and stuff.
If others like em, rock out, they're not for me though.

I started on Call of duty 2. It was a huge let down from 1. Just because of how extremely unrealistic it had become.
Call of duty on veteran was right on.

I'll add you next time i get on.
Also, I have some advice for shooter games that don't show you your cross hair until you zoom in. First off, get a dry erase marker. Then, zoom in, and color in your cross hair.
Don't try that if you have a plasma screen. LOL

Yeah, but you're talking about guys who are trained enough to practically survive a car bomb attack (heard a story, assuming it's true). You're comparing them to guys sitting in front of tv's with controllers in their hands.

Well it was pretty much a joke. Having cross hairs in a video game is pretty legit. Because there are alot faster and better ways to move and react in real life than a video game, hence why you gotta have handicaps like cross hairs and so on.

It is more than enough to make me want a ps3. The only reason I'm not getting one is the whole money problem.

Being able to customize myself and talk to people wouldn't lead me to buy a gaming system haha. Its just another way to get even more money, from both the consumers and the video game producers (advertisements within)
The fact that its so expensive, makes me too angry to buy it. I won't get one for years and that further pisses me off.

Most likely, that also applies for the 360 though. From what I've heard the Wii is 100% backwards compatible.

It's not a demo, it's a guaranteed slot on the Halo 3 beta test, and it only comes with early editions of Crackdown. The beta hasn't started yet, but it's due to start later this Spring.

Finally got back into Chrono Cross and beat it for the first time today. I must say for a game that is absolutely amazing, with incredible music soundtrack the last part of the game is the gayest thing i've ever played or experienced.
I'm not even gonna try and defend the end of this game. It completely and totally blew. First off the entire last area/dungeon has NO music. Coming from a game with at least a top 5 best soundtracks ever, this is HIGHLY dissapointing.
Next up it seems like it was completely and totally rushed. You find out ground breaking information and before you turn your head the games over with little to almost no resolve. There needed to be way more time for MASSIVE key facts to sink in before ending the game. Also the last boss was an utter joke. He was easy (odd because during the game some bosses were harder than any i've ever played against before). The boss only had one part to him unlike the tradtional like 3 stage parts. The final boss music completely sucked too. It wasn't even really music.
There was no pre or post cutscene to the final boss. You finally reach "lavos" and you jump right into the battle. After beating him it goes straight to credits with no information on what happens after the fact.
Needless to say I've never felt so dissapointed with an closure to a game than this. Sad day... very sad day.

I was also disappointed when I beat Chorno Trigger for the first time, but I was also proud of myself for beating my first RPG.

I just got an Xbox. What are the best games: I've got Halo 2, NBA Street vol. 3, Top Spin, Baseballgames, Tiger Woods Golf, etc.
I don't need anymore sports games. However, I am open to car racing game. Thanks for help.

I didn't say anything about chrono trigger.
That is a very fucking hard game to beat (the boss) if you don't know what you're doing or have proper leveled characters.
Also it has 14 pretty good endings. (i've seen like 3 maybe 4) so i don't know how you could say disapointed. For a game that lasts like maybe 20 hours, its extremely epic.

Forza is probably the best car racing game for it. It's very fun.

I shiver when I think of Fable... I followed that game from it's Project Ego days, and what I saw was similar to watching your child slowly develop worse and worse down syndrome over five years. FUCK.
I still have some hope for Fable 2... but there's always a chance it will repeat.
I'd recommend buying Morrowind GOTY, ignoring all the glitches, and having a hell of a good time with the most complex free-roaming game besides Oblivion.
Note: I have 360 posts on page 60 (the new price of games), and I have an Xbox 360. This obviously means that I was destined to own an Xbox 360, so I will play it this weekend more than usual.

About 30-35 hours in FF12 and it still feels I just started playing the game..
The best FF I've played though.

Speaking of which i was gonna ask you if you were still playing it and how you liked it.
I'm tellin you its damn good. I enjoyed the hell out of it. It lasted i think 65-70 hours for me.
It definitely seemd half way through that i wasn't "anywhere" but i guess it just seems that way.
The battle system by far is the best and most innovative in a good way to date. Like i said before, its the only battle system that has made me THOROUGHLY enjoy the battles and level up because i wanted to fight battles and get more points.

Yes, I definitely agree about the battle system. In many rpg's it is a chore to level up, and this I actually look forward to it. That conventional turn-based battle system so many rpg's pickup can get so worrisome and repetitive.

I found me spending hours upon hours of leveling up.. Almost completely by choice. Yes at times i leveled up so when i got the boss i was good and ready, it got to a point like 3/4th the way through that i was leveling to get points and what not and by the time i eventually faced this one boss (who earlier beat the fuck out of me) i kicked his ass with barely losing any life. From there on till the end of the game i was smooth... smoothing sailing.
I dunno if i mentioned this but i tried doing Dragon Quest 8 again. (starting up my savegame) and ended up quitting an hour or 2 into it.
I was so pissed off i registered at ign.com and wrote a 6000+ character review on how bad teh game is.
