I think the fact that it's the Arabs of various religious backgrounds that are pulling together to try to come to a peaceful solution should be a shoutout that not all of any religion are out to exterminate the other. But I think if they do approach the youth with religion as the basis it's probably not going to do much. The thought of arrest might make them think twice.
It's interesting that it's biased to males and that they expect parental authority to help. If there was some respect in the homes they probably wouldn't be rioting in the first place. They'd have more "fetchin' up."

You have to understand some things about Sydney. Foremost, it's very large. It has different bits which people tend to move around in but rarely leave. For example, the Northern Beaches (where Nomad lives) or the North (where I live). People from these different areas usually hate each other more than they hate people from other states or countries, usually on the grounds that the other is simply 'a wanker'.

Now all this trouble is in Cronulla, which is in the Southern suburbs - "the Shire". This means that people from other areas (Eastern suburbs, Inner West etc.) find this whole incident rather amusing because it consists of 'bogans' (our own special word for white trash) and 'wogs' (in this case the Lebanese kind) beating each other to a bloody jam.

Some people pretend to be horrified, but they really don't care. Tourists won't get hurt (they usually stick to beaches further north) and this whole silly thing will blow over the same way the Redfern and Macquarie Fields riots did earlier this year.

australian news will probably just learn not to televise shit like that like in the us<unless its soo severe and half the city is burning> the LA riots was not the last time something like that has happened in the us. the authorities usually throw a lid on it and not draw attention to themselves. this is common practice with the protest crowds at wto,ftaa,imf,g8 meetings. there were full scale riots in europe a few years ago that got hardly any coverage. once some serious shit starts and its becoming world news its just gonna snowball. those riots in paris are a good example.

Man, I hope none of my cousins are involved in this shit. I have a lot of family down under, and our people are always fighting the Lebanese. I don't thing anyone even remembers how and why all this shit started, like someone above me said, there's no moral grounds to it, just dumb fucks wanting to start shit.

When my cousin, (who is built like a fucking brick house, and has the IQ of one), was visiting here recently, he told me abotu how a bunch of our guys busted into a Lebanese club and beat the crap out of everyone that was there. He thought it was cool. I was disguisted.

Now the Lebanese are gonna retaliate against them, and then they will retaliate against the Lebanese, and guess what, the whole fukcing circle starts over again.
