spring semester 2006 thread

Time to register this week:

MBB 322 Molecular Physiology
Cellular and biochemical aspects of immunology, muscle contraction, cell motility, neural transmission, the action of hormones. The course will also explore the cellular and molecular bases of cancer.

MBB 309 Mbb Laboratory II
Contemporary techniques in biochemistry including protein purification, immunochemical methods, and lipid characterization.

MBB 323 Physical Biochem
Introduction to physical biochemistry including rigorous treatment of thermodynamics and molecular transport and interactions with specific emphasis on biochemical and molecular biological processes.

MBB 435 Genomic Analysis
The analysis of entire genomes of organisms has only been possible since 1995. This new area of study will be examined in detail with emphasis on current research.

Including this semester I have 9 classes remaining to be taken until I fulfill my major requirements. I have two more co-op semesters and one independant study semester for my honors. And then some side interest classes for my minor.

So I should have five or six more semesters

who else is in study?

Def, that's not a class every school has. We have Problems of Democracy here which was mostly just a conversation about current events with an essay questions at the end of the week that one could be picked from. It was a required class for seniors. And the previous year there's American History. Those 2 classes were necessary for graduation.

sit on my ass and make loads of money laying people off during re-organisations!

Well, that's an option. But I don't know if I'm enough of a cold-hearted bitch to do that. I might go into international strategical management, I like to use foreign languages and I love to travel.

I have no idea what those guys here get in school. I think it's great you guys don't leave out History. It was 'a very big deal' at my high school and I'm one of those old-school folks that believes there's a loads of valuable lessons to be learned from days gone by.

Thats pretty awesome, I agree with the travelling part. Thats something I want to do with my life badly...preferably with a band...making money to eat and get to the next place. I wish I'd chosen subjects that linked more...all I can do with mine is maybe make a film about philosophy in the 16th century.

This fall I'm finishing up about half of my degree plan for a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Music.

Spring semester classes registered so far:

HIST 4261, Topics in History (the 2nd half of my history, 6 credits needed) - 3 credits
MUCM 3510, Chamber Music (5th of 6 semesters needed) - 1 credit
MULB 1805, Symphony Orchestra (6th of 8 semesters needed) - 1 credit
MUTH 3410, 16th Century Counterpoint - 3 credits

...I am soooo fucking glad I'm done with Theory I-IV.

I did my early registration a little late, so most of the classes I wanted were taken. I have 8 so far, but I need atleast 4 more credit hours, and I wanted to take the following: 18th Century Counterpoint, Adv. Communications, and Statistics.

I've just finished my first year of uni and now I'm on a break till mid February. I've proven that you don't have to show up to classes or lectures, can take generous amounts of drugs and leave study to mere days before the final exams and still pass 1st year med.

Just finished two modules: Taxation and Business Finance. If I pass those, I'll be moving on to Financial Reporting and Business Management.

Nah, not really - Business Finance is just how businesses raise money and then use it. The others are pretty much self-explanatory as to their content. Although, I do concede that the knowledge is rather specialist.

I always liken it to playing an instrument: knowledge of scales and chords is presumed to be very technical by non-musicians even though it is not that demanding (though, the application can be). It's similar in accountancy - the knowledge required isn't really that technical although the application is.

Interesting why I'm good at theory, yet suck at math.
