Book recommendations...

As the title would suggest, im looking for some recommendations for some reading. A few points to narrow down what im after:

Long - has to occupy me for a time
Not fiction - something such as a text/document on a protocol, or a text on a technology, musical ideas/theories, audio principles etc.
Not to do with history - just not my bag
Possibly something to do with art, minimalist/abstract.
Something that i'll learn from also is a must, i want to be able to take something from the book.

I think thats about it, so any suggestions would be noted

Anyone for light reading?

I forgot about the other thread. Go and post there.
