what's the best mp3 player in your oppinions?

I'm considering getting either the Creative Zen Sleek 20gb or the iPod video 30 gb. Any of you have either one?

i would say that the ipod is the most common and widely used, meaning their are many features to it, but i think there are better options out there. one of them would probably be the ability to change the batteries

the ipod has some great features, its battery and battery life NOT being one of them

I've got a Creative Zen Extra 60 gb. It's great - better sound quality than Ipods in my opinion, more EQ options, durable (it's survived a minor flood!), and of course the replacable battery.

Stick with Creative.

Yeah i've had my iPod for almost 2 years now and it's starting to go crazy. I've sent it in to get repaired 2 times already due to it not working and fucking up. One time I dropped it but oh well. They didn't even give me a new battery last time I sent it in, it only lasts about 3 fucking hours. Yet they said it needed a new battery when I brought it in. So I would say don't go with an iPod. Im definitly not next time I get one.

I have the worst mp3 player EVER!!! It holds like 12 regular songs (so like six opeth songs ) and its memory space is not measured in gigabytes, but megabytes. 64 to be exact lol

I picked up a Thomson 40GB in Austria about 6 months ago for 250 euros - that was the main reason I picked it up, very good value for money compared to ipods, which are disgustingly overpriced.

It works absolutely fine, it has a 5 band EQ, plays mp3 and wma, you can record off the radio too (If you would ever want to).

Why?

1) Compatibility. No faggot I-tunes, Creative players work as MP3 players and data sources (i.e. like a memory stick) in all computers, old and new.

2) Sound quality is better. My friends who are audio nuts swear by this.

3) Tough little SOBs. Mine has to be - it goes to the gym with me, which is a massively destructive experience. It has been dropped, slammed between 45s, kicked, stepped on and generally mistreated. And it still goes.

4) Ext. battery powered - means less problems.

5) My woman has an iPod and guess who got to install the fucker? It was a complete hassle. The thing was either faulty, retarded or just plain uncooperative. I resent the fact that I'm perfectly capable of doing my own hardware upgrades but can't make a fucking MP3 player work.

Yea if I had to do it all over again I definately wouldn't get an iPod. The first one I got didn't work at all and then the second one I got only has about 6 hours of battery life and they're supposed to have 12(which still isn't the best but hey it sure as heck beats 6). I guess that I could call them and send it in and all that but thats just a fucking hassle. Fuck Apple.

i like mine, its a Samsung YP-MT6, records WAV files, lots of memory

just remember one thing, always use the Safly remove Hardware thing, if you dont it could fry the harddrive (i did that on my last MP3)

I've had my ipod 6gb mini for a while now. works great, I allready used Itunes so it wasn't much of a hassle. I got the latest mini before the nano came, which has great battery life as apposed to the old one.

It's very user friendly, neat jogdail, cool looks and it never let me down. Sure Ipods are more expensive and shit but they're worth their money IMO.
I bought mine very cheap though, about 120 bucks but mine kinda 'fell of a truck' or something. It was new and still packed but I could only choose one colour

I've had a 20GB iPod for about two years now, everyone else's iPod minis/nanos etc seem to break or fuck up heaps, but I haven't had a single problem with my trusty old model. My only beef is the gradually diminishing battery life, and the fact that 20 GB just ain't enough space anymore.

I'm thinking on getting a Creative Zen, but I want something that will have an adapter for use in my truck. Does it have that adapter available? I've only seen them from Ipod, and I checked Best Buy's and Creative's websites and couldn't find anything.

Or if there's a way of getting around the Ipod battery going to shit problem, I might just go with one of those. Fill me in if anyone knows. Thanks

I'll ask Andy at Radio Shack what kind he has. It only stores 120 songs, but it was only $50 and it works really well. I've heard it before. He's Brenda's friend so we say hi to him whenever we walk. I'll ask him this week when we go again. He's the manager so he's there a lot. I know it isn't an iPod. He specifically said that it isn't. There's probably more expensive ones that hold more of the same brand.

i like my ipod...you have to remember that anything come out of a 1/8th inch connector is not going to be nearly as as good as a cd...so you'd have to base it more on the speakers in your/wherever and the stereo itself.

Anything by Creative. The one I have is pretty awesome, and I guess it goes past the fuck-off sound barrier. Oh and I'm sure they still do 60gb players.

The american iPods are louder than the British ones i believe, something to do with regulations on decibels and all that shite I think you can download a firmware upgrade to get rid of that though. Your best bet is to invest in some quality headphones, as they will make the experience much better

i have this no big brand name mp3 player with 1 gb storage

PLUS POINT: price is somewhat 250 dhs thats around 70$
the sound quality is excellent
the best feature is that it has a usb charging slot so everytime i connected it to the comp it automatically gets recharged
plus connect it to the comp for around half an hour and it goes on and on for 8 hrs nearly (u get a usb adaptor in the case too..... so if u dont have a pc around u, u can still recharge it)
plus the size is so small it fits into a matchbox
has a built in mic
u can play the recordings and songs on different speed (tempo) without affecting the tone (like e note will still sound like the e note not someting lower or higher)
MINUS POINT:the display is monochromatic (like the old nokia phone with blue back light)
the keys are not like ipod's touch and go scroller
doesnt look all that attractive(but who cares)
only 1 gb model available



well the minus points dont really count in front of the advantages .... thats why i gave up the idea of buying an ipod after i got this

i say go for the ipod video, even though my ipod's battery life only ended up lastin bout 3 hours, (it is now dead after having it for a year), my friend has a 60gb ipod video and it is awsome, the battery lasts 12 hours like its meant to and the video quality is good, and if you get the ipod you get to use itunes, which in my opinion is the best media player

I cant stand iPods, they bug the hell out of me. And i have my MP3 player on 6 hours a day, 5/7 days a week, and maybe more, depending on where im going. It would also be good if i could get a Mp3 player that uses AA batteries, because i have well working rechargable ones.
