That's right, you heard me correct, it all happened about 2 years ago when I was introcuced to pills; vicodin, oxycodone, etc. I have been extremely addicted ever since, lots of my money went towards the pills and not much else. My mom decided she will pay for it since I have no money and no job at the moment, the rehabilitation center isn't too far away from my hometown, about an hour drive and I will be leaving tomorrow and coming back home December 23rd, just before Christmas eve, and when I come back I will be a sober man.

One of my aunts who has been to rehab said that each rehab center has different weening techniques. The one I'm going to is supposed to have a lot of art hanging up on the walls, you eat a lot of chocolate and they give you a lot of aphrodesiacs(you have no drug cravings when you're fucking horny! good luck. ive been addicted to propoxyphene before. and then there was hydrocodone, diazpam, and vicodin. meprobomate as well. i fucking hate myself and think i am a major idiot for taking them like i did. all the damn time. i hate myself for it. sitting here today, i realize that if i had never taken a single pill, id still be here right now, only in better health. propoxyphene was the one i seriously abused due to the availability of it, (my step dads prescription). but i really liked diazpam the most. meprobomate was the most fucked up pill ever. the night i took that one i fealt NOTHING, but the next morning i remember feeling out-of-this-world good. the next night i took another two. come saturday i realized i had NO memory of the past two days other than waking up that first morning feeling good, and briefly defending myself to the principle for reasons i will never know/remember. fucked up, and i hate myself for it. but honestly, my friends had some funny shit to say about me those two days i was fucked on meprobomate. i later looked it up in a dictionary to find that it is used in tranquilizers (sp?). if i werent drunk now, i would not have shared this.

hope you doing well Zionist and wishing you well on your sober road i myself was addicted to a painkiller called Kapake, it started of slow like all these things do, first i was taking 2 at a time, before i knew it i was taking 3 in the morning before i even got up and in total about 9 or 10 + a day, but somehow i managed to get it off myself, don't ask me how i did it, but i did it...it was hard and even now i can't take that drug...despite the fact that it would have no effect on my pain....i was about 17/18 at the time...

After reading so many comments about weed additctions and having my own long term study of it, I think the thing with steady smokers is that if you're forced into quitting it's very hard to do, but if you were faced with something that made you quit because you wanted to it might be a lot easier. I know I wanted to for a couple years and before that I hadn't smoked for 1 1/2 years. I'd quit with no problem then. But those couple years I just couldn't do it because it just wasn't what I wanted to do. When I got sick and couldn't and then tried to do it again I coughed so hard it just wasn't worth it so I didn't do it anymore.
I really think you're all right to a certain extent. It's a mental rather than a physical addiction, but can be just as strong.

I've never been properly addicted to a drug but I always tend to grossly overuse them. Like many others here, it seems, I used to smoke weed everyday for ages. It was a major feat to go a few days without smoking. Now I'm down to about once/twice a week.

Many people said that I was alcoholic last year and the start of this year, which was probably true considering I used to have to drink a full bottle of gin to get drunk.

I even drank coffee to the point that if I went all day without a cup, then have one when I get home from school, I would get this relaxed feeling. It was similar to tobacco, more mild but longer-lasting though.

The only pain killer I've taken for recreational use was codeine with weed. I plan on never taking any others because it could turn quite bad, especially seeing that I'll be a doctor one day. I don't really want to be one of the self medicating guys... but as timedragon said, diazepam is really good.

I'm actually surprised at how well behaved I've been recently. I got an ounce of shrooms on 20 Nov and I've only tripped twice since getting them. I plan on dropping e tomorrow however, but it's always fun taking x.
