yeah the intro to crown of horns was taken from the excorcist 3, and the outro was taken from army of darkness. but the serial messiah thing: no clue.

One of Nocturnal Rites's song openings is taken from the movie theme of Deep Blue Sea, but I forgot which one.
The opening to Spawn of Possession's song Forbidden is taken from a badass scene from the exorcist 3, also the lyrics are about that movie too.
Children of Bodom's opening of the song Follow the Reaper is taken from a John Donne poem, but even so, Alexi uses the words of Brad Dourif from the exorcist 3.
Obviously, everyone should know that Possessed used the original exorcist theme in the song the Exorcist.
In Dream Theater's song Change of Seasons, they sneak in a little bit of the Simpsons theme song.

aaaaace.
Anyone know what The Nail is from (CoB)? I used to know the film but I totally forgot. I updated the first post with everything so far, and it seems the Exorcist III is way popular.
Ill get some Aborted ones up when I listen to the albums again (but what was Dead Wreckoning from? Or is that an original?)
Edit: Also added, Origin: Disease Called Man - the Matrix.

Metallica's One video used audio and clips from the film Johnny Got His Gun
Re-Animator 'Monkey see, Monkey Dance' = Life of Brian
Saxon 'Dallas 1pm' = Actual news reel commentary from the shooting of JFK.
There's another Poison Idea track that I can't remember the name of that uses a scene from Goodfellas, where Ray pistol whips the guy on his drive for touching up his missus. I'll post the name when I think of it.
I guess Cradle of Filth must have plundered the Hammer House of Horror archives.
Does anyone know where the sample comes from that starts Akercocke's Chronozon album?

That was Shadows and Dust.
All the Exorcist movies and various horror classics are overused. I've heard that sample from Exorcist III...
"But the main thing is the torment of your friend Father Karras as he watches while I rip and mutilate the innocent, his friends, and again, and again, on and on! He's inside with us! He'll never get away! His pain won't end!"
...in at least 2 different songs. Also, the Gemini Killer:
"Incidentally, did you know that you are talking to an artist? I sometimes do special things to my victims: things that are creative. Of course, it takes knowledge, pride in your work... For example, a decapitated head can continue to see for aproximately twenty seconds. So when I have one that's gawking, I always hold it up so that it can see its body. It's a little extra I throw in for no added charge. I must admit it makes me chuckle every time. Life is fun. It's a wonderfull life, in fact... for some. "
I like this thread.
Who can identify this, from the new Defleshed album?
"I had seen the product of mass murder - I certainly was shocked by that experience. I was traumatised by that experience. Murderers they surely were, murderers in spades, mass murderers on a scale never before seen in human history."

Slayer referanced The exorcist is South of Heaven: the Line 'Bastard sons Begot your Cunting daughters' is inspired by that film.

I think what makes that line funny is the "cue blasts" part.

Joseph Mengele was never captured, he died in South America somewhere as an old man, had a heart attack whilst swimming and drowned so the story goes. There is a film about him called 'Boys From Brazil' I can just imagine Gregory Peck delivering the line 'Pumped with fluid, inside your brain. Pressure in your skull begins pushing through your eyes' I'd love toe hear his Oscar acceptance speach!!!!

I think that's right, yeah.
Doesn't the last song of Goratory's Rice On Suede have a sample taken from a Monty Python Song or something?
Oh, and the second song off III by Origin is definitely a Monty Python sample.
I think.
