Spiders are awesome....and very needed for the world we live in.

As most Floridians know....they get huge so growing up around spiders the size of your hand....you kinda get used to them.

Ground spiders....the kind that dont spin the traditional web....I let them walk on my hands.....mostly wolf spiders....they're fun.

thats a scary thought.. i fuckin hate spiders.. but yeah i did forget they ate insects. fuck they still scare the shit outta me. well unless theyre small enough to smush with my thumb and not make that big of a mess. if they're any bigger: im a little freaked out.

i have a real phobia, i dont think they bothered to find a name for it.

years ago, i decide to quit a job i had in a mall magazine stand coincidentially the day the place got robbed the night before<and i closed the night before>by who i dont know

so i walk in tell the boss"i quit"
he said "stores has been robbed, the safe has been raided, we lost everything"<5,000 bucks, all scratchtickets>
i said"i didnt do it" returned the key and left

it all happened so quick, i was later interogated by police, they were convinced i was thier man. they waved a vhs tape in my face coz the breakin was recorded,i sign some papers about a lie-detector test scheduled the next week. later i get harrassed on the phone every day, i felt even my parents didnt believe me that i actually didnt rob the place, the sleepless nights, anxiety eating me up of possible being charged for real felonies and the possibility of serving real jail time......i talk to a lawyer and he tells me to not show up to the test, tell me to tell the cops to go fuck themselves, its a trap dont do it. so the next day the cop calls of course,2 days till the test, i tell him in all politeness that i will not be showing up to the test, but they threaten, they bully, tell me all this shit about how much trouble im gonna get in etc. the day of the test im a bundle of nerves, think they are gonna drag me off for good. nothing happened obviously, im totally bent and gone off the deep end

that one day damaged me for some reason i cant understand, till this day when i work a job anywhere and its known that someone is stealing on the job, money from the register, pocketbooks or backpacks raided, a set of knives taken<which happened at a recent restaurant job>, inventory anything. i get the fear, anxiety to full blown paranoia, when theres suspicion among the ranks at my job, everyone looking over thier shoulder, everyone giving each other the furry eyeball, i freak the fuck out. its a total irrational fear, its one of my greatest fears ever, and i think it qualifies as a real phobia

I dont have any phobias that i know of, yet.. i used to have a little spider thing about a couple of years back, but ive overcome that. a common one is a phobia of the number 13 on superstitious people thinking its unlucky.

I'm terrified of spiders, I think. I mean I can handle looking that them and if I walk through something like a petshop and see a spider in a cage a cage I don't freak out because I know it can't get to me. I could probably even hold it knowing it's illegal to sell spiders with fangs. But it's the fucking huge spiders with huge fangs with loads of venom and those long legs that get to me. Or it could be a common house spider about the size of your palm. But my girlfriend is worse than me, she can stand pictures or movies of spiders. I tried showing her the movies above but she ran out at the first second. Plus I have an awesome story about her and a run in with a spider at my house. Bother me if you want to hear it.

Same thing with snakes. I could have on as a pet. But if it's poisonous, then fuck it I'm not going near it.

i became kinda cop-phobic too for a while, after a few weeks from the test i didnt take i read in the newspaper that some crazy guy robbed the blue navy at the same mall at gunpoint and was on the loose. i recognized the names of the investigators, that helped a little to know they may have more pressing concerns. recently while walking home from a friends house in providence i ran into a patrolman who said i fit the description of a bank robber.............i have tattoos, japanese kangi i got on my neck when i was 18, in subsequent years kangi has been pretty popular with thugs, gang members. this what description i had that matched from the APB or whatever, i thought then and there i was gonna be brought in, the cop was serious about this, luckily he took my info down and let me go, but yeah i had that same fear, total panic attack, nothing happened tho

for a while i was like dethly afraid of somethin.. for like a whole year. the story:
well there's a group home across the street from my house.. and there's this one schitzophrenic who got that way cause he fried his brain on acid.. well i was out to walk to my bus stop one mornin and i walked out and he was outside and started coughin then he puked (cause of the medicine they gave him) and that grossed me the fuck out.. then i was afraid and i was like freaked out like when i watched tv i'd be freaked cause i was thinkin like 'wat if someone pukes on this show?' so yeah i was pretty phobic of that.

I had a phobia of spiders, where i remember when i was 16 i saw a spider on my bedroom wall (a ickle one, about size of a fingernail) i ran out of room screaming, sat on the living room floor, hugged my knees under my chin, was shaking, crying rocking back and forth, refused to go back into the room until i saw the spider dead and thrown outside....

....am okay now got over that phobia slowly after many years though

a fear of drowning...

....i can walk alongside the beach where the waves are, that's fine, i can be on a ferry that no problem, but not a rowing boat, not to go near on a jetty on a lake etc... it a weird one, but i think though all phobia's are real they are weird, in the sense that although i know it a fear, i can't control how i react to it,

a few years ago (about 4 now), one of my friends tried to get me over my phobia of drowning (well to help me on the first few steps), we were staying ona residentail weekend and there was a lake there, and a jetty (a place that did water sports as well), so she walked in front of me, held my hand and i walked behind her, all the time she said everything was okay, then one of the boys (neither of us knew he was there), came up the side of the jetty and splashed me with water, i ran away screaming, he laughed, but he soon apologised when he saw me several feet away, sitting one of the benches shaking, i was that scared.

but it is something that one day i may try to get over, my boyfriend has already said that if it is something i'd like to do, he'd help me....but i dunno....

Something similar happened to me once.

When I was 16 I had been working at Mc Donalds for about 4 months. I got off work late and went home one night. The next day I show up and they tell me the police want to talk to me and that I will not be allowed to work there anymore. I talked with the police and the store owner in the back room and they tell me $100 was missing from my cash drawer last night They wanted it back and nothing would happen to me, plus I would have to quit or be fired. I didn't still it and I told them that but they just didn't believe me. After an hour of this shit. I was told to go home, that I was fired, and that the police would be contacting me again soon. Basically, I was scared that I was going to have this pined on me reguardless.

Next day I got a call from from the owner saying I could come back to work. They caught the new lady they just hire a few days earlier ringing up a coffee on a cash drawer last night... after they were closed and while no one was near by and not on her register! That makes the draw open. Also, she had worked with me the night the money disappeared out of my drawer.

I don't know what ever happened to her but I never seen her again after that and my cash drawer was never missing any more cash.

To be honest, the only thing that I am afraid of in an unrealistic way is heights, I get really nervous when I am not standing on something solid or if I am near an edge where the drop is more than about half a story. Sometimes I am even concerned when I am totally inside on the second floor of a building.
I am also somewhat 'afraid' of crowds of people, they generally make me feel really uncomfortable.

I got a dirty needle stick once as an EMT by push a needle into a bio can and another needle jumped up and stick me deep. It was about the worse year of my life. I was 20 years old and I could have had AIDS or anything. But I was lucky and didn't contracted anything.

there are a few things im scared of:
flying (not because of crashing, but because your trapped in a completely non-smoking area with no escape)
i used to be shitscared of earwigs untill i was about twelve, and found out that they didnt try to crawl inside your ears.
i have an irrational fear of posting in birthday threads too.
im also mildy claustrophobic, as in anything smaller than 6ft cubed. i will not go in underground caves where i cant stand up strait.

but i get really nauseated even thinking about certain animals/insects.
mainly slugs, snails, leeches, anything slimey. this also extends to the ocean, which i will not go in. its not water, its that its inhabited with thousands of simey animals.
oh and fucking tapeworms, i feel ill now just writing about them
this i consider a real phobia.
