Any kind, pretty much with me. Melodic rock, old Motown, early 20th century, and Celtic being my most favorites.

I like ambient, but more specifically Post-Rock Instrumental type stuff. Its part orchestra, and part experimental rock. I don't know how to explain it.

Most definately. Jazz and a bit of classical are the only other genres I consider worthy of my eardrums.

I am quite partial to drum n bass/techno british hip hop, art noise and just noisy stuff in general. Favourite band being the locust followed by Zyklon. After saying this, metal is the only thing that relaxes me if i am pissed off.

ah, my theory is that whenever I hear someone from there say it (more so scandinavia) they cant say the TH sound right and it usually comes out like just a T

This is true, but there would be a whole thread of yes, no, maybe, and the next thread would probably be if metal isn't our favorite then what do we listen to. And then the mods would do a dance on our heads.

actually metal is my second pick. i prefer softer instrumental type stuff. Kind of like the intros and outros found on most symphonic/black bands. And if i dont get it there i can find more of a renaissance style in celtic and folk instrumentals. I think this is why i like mithotyn so much. They have metal songs most of the time, and then there are renaissance style "instrumentals" throughout. Anyway, i prefer the somewhat non metal songs, but still they are best when written by metal bands.

Metal mainly, but I enjoy really strange modern jazz, especially if it involves guitar. I got an album of john Zorn, Mike Patton and... Dave Lombardo. Its really odd.
Also, Arnold Schoenberg is really good.
I love slap bass, Primus and other Les Claypool stuff, also a bit of Victor Wooten, he's fucking good on a bass.

Metal is definitely my fave. Other than that, a bit of jazz, classsical, flamenco/classical guitar, classic rock, and a wee bit of rap.

i listen to some alternative rock someitmes, none of this new "indie" stuff though strictly the old shit like Kyuss. Otherwise i sometimes listen to my indigenous tribal hymns that my dad has lying around or to some marimba tracks from guatemala tht my dad also has lying around.

i like metal and hardcore equally i guess, certain bands stand out, some i like for the skill, some for thier ability to write a good song or album using simple components.........another thing i favor is unorthodoxy, bands that go against preconcieved notions of formula, this is why i like the noise element of extreme music and how its evolving into instrumentation. but i guess my preference extends to the bands instead of the catagoralization as far as new stuff is concerned.

usually non metal music is the most emotionally touching. but sometimes metal can really pull you in too. but youre not going to get a lot of moving or captivating emotion from say... saprogenic or obituary.
