yes, kimbo lost one fight, and its on video all over the internet, i can dig it up for you and its 10 times more brutal than that one.
those bands, even tho i dont like thier music, shouldnt be treated that way if you really think about it. those folks paid to get in and ruin the show for everyone, just because i dont dig the band doesnt mean that i hate them as people and think they should get thier assed kicked or have rocks thrown at them.
i have personally dealt with hecklers, been attacked by people in the crowd after shows i played. its one of the most fustrating things, it makes me not want to even go thru all the bullshit of playing music, it makes me think, why do i try?. its real easy for some jerks to shit on someone who actually is trying to do something,whether it be music,art,film....anything......and not actually do anything themselves
like if you really didnt like nickelback, dont pay to go to thier shows........form your own band and play the music YOU want to hear. nickelback is only doing something most of us want to do......basically release music and tour the world over, quit the fucking dayjob and be compensated for thier efforts, even if they are millionare assholes it doesnt mean they arent human, doesnt give anyone the right to fuck thier shit up and ruin it for not only them but the folks who paid alot of dough to see a show.
remember when iron maiden was egged,had the PA turned off and totally dissed at ozzfest?, that shit was like watching the space shuttle explode to me.......that happened in my country, a place iron maiden doesnt even really want to go and play.......some other jerks ruined a rare oppurtunity to see this band for thousands of people.

Fair enough low-tech, I guess you've been shaped by personal experience.
But the "don't go to their shows" argument isn't so great... but I agree anyhow.
Anyhow, CTL, Caitlin, timedragon, I just watched the whole College Saga that's been featured on youtube, and I must say it's really good, and I think you'll like it since all you guys talk about in the console thread is those type of Adventure games.

The widow's son rushed into the room, found his mother on the floor, and saw the computer screen which read:

i think what theyre trying to say is that typically they've seen americans here and there (obviously not all of them) just be oblivious to where they are.
I wouldnt say that theyre saying "be like the people in the other country" just more something like respect their customs. Like in europe for example, a bunch of my friends and i went to Italy and we had to dress nicely to get into restaurants, because dress codes are often in effect like golf and tennis clubs in north america. Sure its different, but its a standard there, and some people just dont respect that. The article is probably taking Americans as an example because of confirmation bias, and many people really do not like americans. I feel the label is to be seen as rude, loud, sloppy, and very outspoken to a point where its irritating. Some fill the stereotype, some don't; but people naturally only make big deals about what they don't like, therefore you get sweeping generalizations and whatnot. But correct me if i'm wrong, is this article reporting on something that the US is doing--making travel etiquette programs?

I understand the stereo type and especially "now" it is a good idea to blend in. I'm just not one that likes political correctness (in the extreme form you commonly see today, especially in the political and commerical arena).
I think the article is talking about changes in policies where the state department and all that are going to start pushing like pamplets and knowledge out there to be more "open minded" and to appeal more to their surroundings.
Hell in the military its a big deal. Especially in my field. Not looking like "american" or more importantly a "military target" and all that kinda stuff. Not having a high in tight when you travel, maybe grow some facial hair, don't have a huge USMC tshirt on and shit like that. Blending in.
I think we and any country should respect the population and the... natural "balance/culture" or whatever you want to call it in a country, but i think people need to be a little more open minded themselves that maybe the things they think are "rude" or "inappropriate" to you may not be to them. Its kind of a double standard. My way of living is better than yours so fuck off kinda thing.
I just have a hard time accepting people get pissed off because americans act like americans and it would be a damn shame to remove that. (I'm not saying so much towards this discussion about going to foreign countries)
But for example i was watching discovery channel while at my parents house and i would see show after show of like american things and american culture, and i think it fucking rocks.
I mean hot dogs, hamburgers, and pizza, just to name so foods and all the thigns thats been associated with it over the years. Baseball games, board walk beach stuff, rodeos, and what not. We're informal, more often than not welcoming people. (sure extreme differences in culture, (culture shock) brings varied results but we're adapting and i think we're doing just fine at it).
I could go on and on about this subject but i'll reframe and post a lil here and there about it haha. Hell the inventions and creations alone that the US has produced since the 1900s is remarkable.

It accurately captures the intial beginnings of the Marine Corps. (deciding to join and joining up.)
What they need to do imo is do a commerical with that stuff in it, but with much more of the heritage and tradition. Show some "steller" marines from WW2 and Vietnam and even the Iraqi war. Tell the stories of what marines do everyday.

(i think) And you see pictures of marines with like slick bottoms on (no pockets and what not) Basically i guess they used to get injured and leave the hospials so they started taking their pants away and gave them the medical pants instead (to prevent them from leaving) and they left anyways. To go back out and help their fellow marines.
Well he was like flashforward to the Iraqi war. And he was talking about Marines that were injured and flown out to like Turkey and what not. How theres many stories of marines leaving the hospitals and hitch hiking their way back to Iraq to help their fellow marines. Thus there is no New corps and there is no Old corps, there is just the Corps.
Sometimes its kind of daunting to go each day apart of a service with insane amounts of honor and discipline but i guess you learn that you or another would do it because thats what we do.
