I never seen such a brown-noser as he is. I don't know whether he thinks he's cool or not by being so outspoken, but to me he doesn't seem to do it in the right way..

Hmm... yet another issue where the truth is so heavily buried under jargon there is no point even pointing a finger.

Scenario #1:

George Galloway is a man of weighty testicles. His hearty stump-fucking of his his way back into Parliament (after being booted from Labour) has the swine running scared. This whole scandal is a rather nasty snow-job designed to royally fuck with a man who represents a serious threat to the war-centric political orders of Downing Street and Washington. Certainly, the man's own words (read today's Counterpunch!) would make this seem likely. The original allegations of the bullshit against him were smacked up good when he won three separate libel proceeding against three separate newspapers for writing them up.

Scenario #2:

George Galloway is a cynical, manipulative assmunch. After playing the Iraq morality card so hard to get elected, he is doing anything he can to avoid the fact that he cheated the people he essentially was elected to save. All this bluster is grandstanding to obscure the fact that he is deep in shit of his own making.

I think there's a stronger case for #1. But fucked if I'm sure.

Twits and/or people who do not know who Galloway is (i.e. Americans), please try to keep hyperbolae to a minimum.

I'm not particularly fond of George Galloway but I'm proud of how he shoved all the smokescreens that the American Senate could throw at him and then turned them into the real issue: that the war in Iraq was based on a pack of lies.

I particularly like his response to the Senator's question of how many times he'd met with Saddam Hussein: "Exactly the same amount of times that Donald Rumsfeld has, twice. The only difference was that I was trying to end the sanctions that were killing innocent Iraqis while Rumsfeld was there to sell him weapons." Priceless.

For the American Senator (I foget his name, Norm something) to then conclude by saying that Galloway was, and I quote, "An unreliable witness" beggars belief. Why call a man who lives 3,000 miles away to an inquiry only to label him unreliable when he rams your allegations back down your throat?

An American Senate background simply cannot stand up to a British parliamentary one: Galloway had been schooled in harsh debate for 25 years and the Senate just couldn't compete. He made America's politicians look like monkeys in expensive suits (which admittedly isn't that hard). Galloway tamed the Senate all on his own and unlikeable as he may be, he has my respect for his show of defiance and balls.
