haha, I never know about that program but I watched it and it's hilarious. I don't think that was EVER aired in the UK, or at least... I don't believe the English would do that

I think that it did, there was also a cartoon called 'Captain Pugwash', with characters including; Seaman Stains, Master Bates, and others

The names in Captian Pugwash were a myth: I saw a program that revealed as much. No Roger the Cabinboy either I'm afraid.

As for rainbow, Goddamn I used to love that program. I do believe that some of the episodes toed a little close to the line. Even though I haven't clicked the link, I know of one episode in which Zippy and Co were discussing "big red balls" for a while.

wasn't Captain Pugwash a book first anyway?

Oh the subliminals in cartoons, Tin-Tin was the worst for that.

I think it was a book first, yeah.

Tin Tin? You'll have to refresh my memory as I haven't watched that hilariously coiffured goyt for at least a decade.

The subliminals in it? I can't remember exactly what they suggested the cartoon was standing out against, it was on channel 4's "100 best cartoons"...and i was just hoping for Invader Zim to be shown somewhere....it has escaped my memory....but i'll find the tape and recap.

[EDIT]
*the wonders of google*

Some folks were talking about that 100 top cartoons programme in the pub on Monday. I didn't see it myself, but as far as I could glean Transformers didn't even make it onto the list. Is nothing fucking sacred anymore? I was relieved that Dungeons & Dragons got on there though, that was top draw - even more so because we used to have an English teacher at De La Salle who looked EXACTLY like the Dungeon Master.
