We have them where I live except not giant behemoth millipedes like that. The ones we have are like 3 inches (8 centimeters). If you touch them they roll into a ball and emit an odor onto your hands that wont come off for hours. I used to call them "stink bugs" |

I'd like to point out that not every animal with an exoskeleton is an insect. Insects always have six legs. Arachnids (such as scorpions and spiders) have eight. Centipedes have many more (a pair per body segment). Millipedes have more yet (two pairs per body segment).
We have a couple different millipedes where I live, but they are all very small, the biggest is around 2.5 inches, the other is usually around an inch long.

You are lucky to see copperheads. If you lived any farther south than Jacksonville you wouldn't. They only reach the northern part of Florida. Cottonmouths are quite common throughout the state. People get cottonmouths and copperheads confused frequently down there. More importantly, they get them confused with harmless snakes that they kill on sight.
Also, I should point out that glass snakes are actually lizards. Limbless lizards. I've always wanted to see one. I'd sell at least one of my testicles to get to Jacksonville. The life I want to live is in Florida. I know that sounds desperate and way too personal, but fuck if it isn't 100% true.

On a more serious note, I found my first snake when I was 8 and was getting bitten regularly when I was 9. I started finding big snakes when I was around 14, I remember the first black racer I found, it was about 4 feet long, bit me on the bridge of my nose. It didn't hurt that much, but fuck if it didn't freak me out. I hate getting bit, and I always act like a little kid and pull back my hand if a snake strikes. Of course, the fact that I frequently get bitten has never curbed my obsession.

My backyard is a nice source for critters.....When I was little a saw a large rat snake and it scared the shit out of me. Other than that, I've seen rattlesnakes, vipers, hog nosed, and garner snakes around my house. Not to mention lizards and mice.
