kettle chips rule. you should try to find or order some blair's habanero kettle chips. best. chips. ever. period. they have a good level of heat to them..easily the spiciest chips i've ever had.
tonight i had half a sandwich and a bowl of homemade chicken soup with vegetables. i didn't make the soup though. put in a few globs of megadeath and stirred it in...was hot as hell and wound up getting heartburn later. took some pills to squash that..had a beer, and i'm ready for more pain.

I went to my friend's engagement party Saturday night at this nice Vietnamese restaurant in Boston's Chinatown. It was so refreshing to have AUTHENTIC Asian food.. not this mass-produced dime-a-dozen stuff you can find at any corner in town (although I do sorta like it every once in a while). They just kept bringing out plate after plate after plate of some of the highest quality Asian cuisine I've had the pleasure to try. There ended up being about 8 or 9 courses in total plus dessert (this is only a rough recap because I was partially shattered). First was shredded jellyfish served with carrots and onions, as an appetizer. Then somewhere down the line was a nice sized plate of steak and asparagus. There were also plates with just straight up chicken, shrimp, duck, pork dumplings, rice crackers, lamb fried rice, and other fun stuff. You should have seen how fast the plate became empty, hahah, our table was like a den of tigers. One of the last dishes they brought out was a big bowl of traditional white rice with cut up carrots, and scrambled egg bits. There wasn't as much seafood as I hoped there would be, but I really cant complain because it was bomb either way and I didn't pay a cent! Plus there was free unlimited beer too!
There is a better place I've been to several times called Little Q's Hot Pot. There's a hot pot in the center of every table and you pan the menu checking off whatever you want including what kind of broth (I usually go with Szechwan) and they bring it all to you raw for you to cook it all yourself in the hot pot to whatever temperature you want. It's fucking great.

I had a foot long chicken with sweet onion sauce the other day. It was also loaded with mayo so perhaps a little too much sauce.
I had Kung Pao chicken stir-fry with rice/vegetables today at Jack Astor's. The waitress warned me about the 'hot' chili sauce..which I completely covered my plate with...noobz.
It was actually pretty hot after eating it in mass volume.
Edit from Wikipedia -
"Jack Astor's Bar and Grill is a chain of 24 restaurants located in Ontario, Quebec, Alberta, Nova Scotia, New York and North Carolina. All locations include a restaurant and bar area. It is owned by SIR Corp."
What a random assortment of locations.

yeah those are pretty random locations, hahah. It's funny that something like Kung Pao chicken is served at a restaurant with a name like Jack Astor's. Sounds like a sweet joint though.
I've been wanting to fucking try out Sonic's for years now. There are none on the northern part of the East coast.
Anyway, I just had me a deep bowl of garden vegetable soup and a grilled cheese sandwich. Talk about yum.

I went into this Mexican joint down the street, it's fucking kare-oke night and this chubby woman is belting out some speed-mariachi love songs, you know, the kind of music where you hear like 10 dudes playing various drums and another ten tooting horns to a walking bass line.
She was a good singer too, couldn't knock her, but the shit was WAY....WAY too loud. There were only like 4 tables seated too, place was virtually empty.
And you could tell the kareoke setup wasn't really there for anybody's particular enjoyment of notice. the 2 chick taking turns(there was another chick equally as bold as the first) on the mic were there just to lay down the pain, the passion, the anguish of these intense love songs.
You simply couldn't order food, you had to point on a menu what you want and just nod enthusiastically. The shit sounded like there were fullstacks AC/DC style in the room.
I got a chirizo burrito with some rice and refried beans, one of the best I've had in a while.
Earlier in the day I went into a Panderia, mexican bakery and had one of them chicken panini iron-pressed sandwiches, the shit would drip grease profusely but it was heavenly.......the greasiest food I've ever encountered, ate myself into a food coma and had to sleep a few hours to recuperate bloodflow back to the brain.

Not a single restaurant in my town has kareoke.
Cooked some Chicken Tenders on an open fire last night. Used Pecan wood and a bottle of Shiner Blonde to give it some extra flavor. Added Roasted Garlic, Seasoning Salt and Garlic and Herb spices to it. That chicken fucking rocked.

today i went to this place called bd's mongolian grill. they do a "mongolian bbq" thing..which is basically a make your own stir fry thing. they had all kinds of meat, and plenty of vegetables. they had shredded ribeye, shredded ny strip, chicken, duck, sausage, shrimp, calamari, and one or two other meats..typical vegetables. after you get all your shit together, you hit up the seasoning table..they have sauces and powders. i made mine spicy as fuck.
then you hand your bowl of food to the cook and they throw it on this flat heated surface that is VERY hot so the food cooks really quickly. haha mine had all kinds of spices and jalapenos and it was fucking with the cook while he was cooking it.
was about 15 bucks for all you can eat. plus it was happy hour so i was getting reduced prices on beer. they had their own red beer listed on the menu, but had stopped selling it because it was very similar to amberbock so they just sold that now. weird..would've tried their beer. wound up just going with blue moon.
coolest thing was that it was all you can eat..but i bit off more than i could chew and only ate a little bit of my second big ass plate. fortunately my waiter was cool as hell and i tipped 5 bucks on a $23+change bill...so i got a to go box and had the rest of it later for dinner.
they try and give you this pile of rice to eat too that is "free" with your meal...that shit probably just fills you up, so i didn't have very much of it. wouldn't fit in my to go box though.

it's simple as hell. i used hillshire farms brand jalapeno sausage, onion (yellow or white work fine..this one was a yellow onion), and red habaneros. you can use other peppers if you don't like it too hot..those habs have quite a bite to them. had a bit of an endorphine rush at the end of that meal.
i sprayed some regular pam (non stick spray) onto a cast iron skillet (can be whatever pan you want really), and set the heat to medium. throw the diced onion and pepper into the skillet..stir it up every so often and cook them. i like them a little blackened but not too much. when they are almost done, put the sausage on and blacken both sides a little bit.
for seasonings, i kept it simple..black pepper and garlic powder. had some yellow (american) mustard to dip in..was gonna use some habanero bbq sauce i have but we were almost out of mustard so i figured i'd kill that bottle.
made it again tonight since i still had half the sausage.
http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c...d/IMG_4290s.jpg
this time i had a salad on the side and some white wine. figured i'd change it up from my usual water or beer with dinner. was pretty fucking good.
haha not sure where the wine glasses are..so chimay glass it was.

Awesome. It looks quick and delicious, which is always a favourite combination for myself.
I made some sloppy joes earlier.
Fresh minced Ground Beef
Kikkoman Soy sauce
Worcestershire sauce
Garlic powder
Cheyenne powder
Fresh ground pepper
Diced Onions
After it was cooked I added some high quality(but canned) garlic and basil tomato sauce, Ketchup and some grated Parmesan cheese. Broil some store-made buns and you have a Man's Meal done in no time.

sounds good..i loves me some sloppy joes. i usually just cheat and use that manwich sauce. i do dice up peppers and onions though.
ha i always think of that lunch lady from billy madison when i think of sloppy joes.
well, i went to the store and wound up coming home with some food for tomorrow. for the main course i bought a 2.5 lb rib roast that i'm going to broil. will marinade it with some teriyaki sauce, a little cabernet sauvignon (had to look at it to spell sauvignon ), black pepper and will probably wind up throwing some other random spices in as i feel necessary. going to throw some onion, garlic, celery, and potatoes in with it while it roasts.
for side dishes, i'm making a spinach salad with various other vegetables mixed in, green beans, and now for the best part some bacon wrapped stuffed jalapenos and habaneros. they only had green habs though..kinda shitty but will work. stuffing them with this habanero pepper-jack cheese i found at the store, and maybe some diced onion, and crumbled "hot" italian sausage from the store. might do a bit of prep work tonight.

nachos motha fuckah! do you eat them!?
cheese: habanero pepper jack and some jalapeno pepper jack
toppings: diced jalapenos, onions, crumbled "hot" italian style sausage.
spices: garlic powder, black pepper, and everglades heat. (the eh is basically a spicy seasoned salt.)
then i poured some hot sauce on there to top it off and give it a little more bite. ate that while drinking a glass of wolaver's IPA. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/119/399

Weird, they have the same deal(and price) up here.
Those nachos look damn good graf. I made from scratch a curry chicken stir-fry. My girlfriend didn't appreciate the scents that were emitting from my asshole the entire night.

Yes.
What beer were you drinking? A Joe Louis could be paired well with a porter or lighter stout.

making some chili right now. smells delicious! didn't make it too spicy though..parents will likely have some when they come back on tuesday. only used 3 whole jalapenos (diced) and some seasonings.. other than that, should be fairly mild. (i used plenty of other ingredients..just not much to add to the heat.)

I just finished a very interesting hamburger. I got the idea from watching the Food Network.
Take some ground chuck and flatten it into a thin patty, than take a slice of cheesy and fold it in half and place it in the center of the patty. Make another thin paddy and place over the first. Be sure to close the ends tightly and make it one complete patty. The simply fry it and season which ever way you like. Whenever it's completely fried, cut across the top of the patty to release some of the cheese. Failure to do so makes it even more messy when you eat it.

that does sound pretty badass!
normally when i make burgers i dice up peppers (either jalapeno or habanero, wear gloves! that shit will burn!), onions, and mix in some seasonings..usually just garlic powder and black pepper. sometimes they don't stay together all that well..usually they do, just gotta be careful with them until the outside is cooked. to prevent them from falling apart, you can add a little bit of an egg to the mix. i've never done it that way..just what i've heard.
had some sbarro for lunch today..just a slice of pepperoni. it was pretty good..not as good as i remembered. then again, i haven't been there in years. tonight i'm going out to eat with my parents and someone that is applying for a job at my dad's school. might get a cheese steak..that or a burger or something.

I also add peppers and onions to my hamburgers when ever I have them in stock. Very messy, but still excellent.

oddly enough, dale's is fairly similar to soy sauce and liquid smoke. it's mostly soy sauce..just has other spices in it. it's fairly easy to find i think and not too much money.
all this food talk is making me pretty damn hungry though. have to endure for 30 more minutes. ha at least a beer will put something in mah belly before the food shows up.

Would've been better with a shitload of cheese.
I had a bowl of insanely hot chilli which my ass will despise me for come tomorrow.

Not a fan of melted cheese. Pizzas and nothing else.
Nothing like a shit that doesn't touch the sides, eh?
