earlier i had two enchiladas at this place in sarasota, fl called tijuana flats..it was really good, but the best part was the variety of hot sauces they had to choose from. i went with the spiciest one that was called endorphine rush..coincidentally, it gave me one! i've never experienced that before..have read people talking about it, but this was my first one. needless to say, that stuff was hot as hell.

Had it in a 'nouvelle Indian' place, it tastes similar to Lamb, but it much more tender (obviously this it down to the cut and the way it's cooked as well, but I had lamb also, so i can compare the two) It looks like lamb too- grey-ish/pink. Definitely recommended, will be having it again for sure if i see it on the menu

tonight i'm grilling up some bone in pork chops. they're soaking up some terriyaki marinade as i type this. probably have some green beans and maybe some salad on the side.

gonna have some lunch in a little..gonna slice up some turkey breast we baked the other day and make a sandwich. probably put on some of the blair's mega death. damn that shit is hot! when i tried a little dab on my finger for the first time..didn't seem too bad, but i tried a little more and noticed a difference. i basically only use a few drops per meal and that does the trick.

at least it will last a long time! the only extreme hot sauce i ever bought, never even made the half way mark, in the bottle! it was in the kitchen for 8 years.

I need some advice guys. I want to start eating healthier so some suggestions for meal preparation would be appreciated. As in, some food I could eat through out the three daily meals. This doesn't mean I'm a vegetarian!

Eat chicken. Not only does it taste great, it's high in protein and low in fat. Pork is also lean.

you know what is simple as hell and fucking delicious? get some "zesty italian" dressing..not the creamy kind. marinate the chicken in that overnight then bake, grill (grilling tastes better, but watch out because that stuff is flammable.) the chicken. you can add other seasonings to it if you want..like garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, crushed red pepper, crushed jalapeno, etc.

also, if you are frying using oil..use extra virgin olive oil. not cheap, but from what i know, it is the healthiest oil to use.

Don't think i'll be frying anything. I'm not too experienced of a cooker. My mom does it all, which should change if I learn how to cook.

It is when you're not raised eating the proper foods. I was sadly raised on milk and cereal, bacon and eggs, heaps on jelly on a bacon sandwich.

are you trying to lose weight? or just eat healthy food? if you are trying to lose weight..avoid shit with lots of carbs...like bagels. but if you are just trying to eat better..all the shit bass listed is good. juice or water, use some margarine or light butter..something like that instead of full fattening butter. turkey bacon is a good alternative to regular bacon...it tastes surprisingly similar and isn't fattening really..well maybe if you ate plates upon plates of it..but i was shocked out the nutrition label.

whole grain waffles, fruits, english muffins with jam, etc.

cooking isn't hard..just use common sense and you will avoid lots of stupid mistakes. also, pay attention! i can't say how many times i've fucked up food because i was trying to cook and do other things (playing computer games online in particular.).

one other thing, if you drink sodas, i'd stop either all together or just have some here and there. coke zero has just about nothing in it, so it would be the ideal one to drink if you wanted to drink soda regularly.

Losing weight would result in even MORE people calling me anorexic.I weigh 125-130 usually in the middle but sometimes I go a little below if I spend the whole weekend away from home or get sick. Next time I go to the grocery store I'll stock up on some of the listed foods. Fruits and yogurt actually sound like a great breakfast along with a toasted slice of grain bread. Water is my preferred drink. Following by Ice tea but I usually load that with sugar. Guess I got to cut back on the sugar. Thanks guys.

Try getting some different kinds of pasta. I make it all the time before a workout. It's very easy to boil, anywheres from 3-15 minutes. Pasta sauce is very easy to prepare to, just heat some up on a pan. It's also really good to add ground beef or even chicken breast pieces to your sauce.

I make a lot of chicken and beef wraps. Just cook the meat, add vegetables/salsa to the pan and that's pretty much it. Grate some cheese and even put some dollops of low fat sour cream on the wrap.

I drank mainly milk, water and some orange juice. I drink very little pop(barely none) or sports drinks like Gatorade or Powerade, which are filled with sugar.

yeah, like Bass said, pastas great too. In the past few years, I've just subconsciously strayed away from sodas completely, and instead, drinking pretty much orange juice, milk, or water. I've also done away with fast food for the most part. It really does make a difference eating healthier, especially mentally. It's so mindless when people are like, "Oh I don't give a fuck about my health..." That's like saying you don't care how much you get payed or something.. idk. Give it some time, you'll care eventually.

There's this huge 1.6 mile circle of road at my school that goes around most of the campus and jogging or walking around that once a day has served me well too.

i made a decent salsa. 2 jalapenos. 2 chile piquines. a handful of diced onions and bell pepper and a can of diced tomatoes. then i made a burrito with bean, onion and potatoe.

you ever let it marinate overnight? you will definitely notice a difference. sounds good though. try sesame oil! you will love it, and i think it goes better with that kind of marinade. hah i've been making food before and just heating up a pan of sesame oil and my roommates asked what i was cooking cause it smelled so good. you can add tons of spices to that too..ground cayenne, onion powder, paprika, cumin, etc.

timez - sounds good! you ever try throwing in a habanero? i've never made my own salsa before. today i finished dehydrating several peppers. a decent amount of habaneros, a handful of jalapenos, and a couple serranos. gonna grind them up tomorrow and make powders out of them. first time i've used my dehydrator for anything but jerky. last but definitely least..to bust your balls..it's potato. you only add the e for plural.



tomorrow i'm making more pulled pork. have a 5.4 lb. "boston butt" (pork shoulder), gonna coat it in mustard, and make a nice rub for it and cover it up. baking it in the oven (no grill anymore..was borrowed from a neighbor that moved), and no smoker. i've never made it on the grill before anyway. gonna put it in at about 225 for a few hours. take it out, wrap it in foil, and let it sit at a lower temp for a bit. wrapping it in foil and letting it sit (doesn't have to be in an oven at all..can be on the counter) is key to making it extra tender..thus the "pulled" part. you can literally shred it with two forks. can't fucking wait! even have some habanero bbq sauce i picked up at the hot food festival that i've been itching to try.

well today i started up my pork roast. put it in right before 11am at 225 F. making the house smell nice, and i can't fucking wait to try out this habanero bbq sauce. might even grind up these peppers i dehydrated and put some of the powder on my pork too. damn, i can't wait for dinner!

I bought this one bottle of chipotle habanero pepper sauce when I went to Arizona a few summers ago, and yeah, between me and my friend it lasted less than a week. That's how good it was. We used it on EVERYTHING. We had habanero Ramen, habanero fries, habanero pork, habanero hashbrowns.. and the funny thing is some of those combinations might sound a little gross to some but I shit you not, it worked on anything.



I just had a deep bowl of cream of broccoli soup with a couple grilled cheese sandwiches (white on wheat) and apple juice for lunch. Really simple but really good.

haha thanks man...i try. i just love food a lot. then do a bit of looking around online for ideas, or recipes for my favorite foods, then try to make them at home. sometimes it's a lot of work, but it's fun (as long as you don't fuck it up in the end) and when it all works out, it's just how i like it since i made it.

sometimes, like the first time i made chili on my own, i'll just read a lot of different recipes. since everyone has their own way of doing it, i just take parts from different ones and make it my own.

Yeah, me and my friend love to experiment in cooking. Whenever we're in doubt of what to eat, we cook up some ramen noodles (or bomben noodles as I like to call 'em) but we don't just throw in the flavor packet and call it a night. Think of ramen as it comes in the package as a starting ground. It can go anywhere you take it. We experiment and put in various other spices, onions, peppers other veggies etc, sometimes shrimp when we have it, butter or margarine, MUSHROOMS, soy sauce, fobby Asian hot sauce, anything else we think has potential. And not all of this in at once, btw. Measurement is crucial and takes several attempts to get right, but I'm sure I don't have to tell you that. We do the same with pork and chicken whenever we get the chance. And you're right, it is wicked fun.

ramen is good like that. i've made the noodles, tossed the seasoning packet and threw the noodles into some stir fry. i fried the noodles a bit too when i mixed it in. came out pretty good, but a bunch of noodles got burnt to the pan.

didn't wind up crushing up my peppers..i think they need a little more time in the dehydrator. so they're sitting back in that thing for a while.

Anyone who loves stir fries should get some oyster sauce, Shaoxing rice wine and sesame oil. They go well with practically anything. I just made a beef stir fry with those ingredients, and holy fuck does it taste amazing.

oyster sauce is the best thing to stir fries your food. Thats very good.

it was good, but i asked for it thai hot, and it wasn't nearly as hot as the last dish i got at that place. didn't even clear out my sinuses.

I've never ate Thai food personally, although I would love to experience it soon. Once I get the chance, there is no way I'm passing it up. Tried Mongolian Beef last month which wasn't something I liked. Seems similar too Thai food but not the exact same so there is a possibility that I'll like it. The mass amount of onions and bell peppers was the biggest turn-off of the Mongolian Beef.

well thai food uses a lot of vegetables in their food. personally i like chinese more than thai..i'm still pretty new to thai on the other hand. they'll make it really spicy if you want them too, spicier than any chinese food i've had..that includes ordering kung pao/szechuan and asking for it to be extra spicy. i've heard thai soup is really fucking good..haven't tried any yet though.

i like chinese food, but i hardly ever have it.
