Splatterhouse
No, not the band.
Who has played any of this series' gems?
The first one was for arcade and turbo grafix 16, and the other two were for sega genesis.
This game is absolutely fucking SICK and awesome. Blood, gore, dismembered bodies everywhere, mounds of human flesh getting up and slithering to you, and the best fucking part?
You're a man possessed by a skeleton mask that gives you incredible power and makes you look like Jason Voorhees as well.
The gore never stops at all, and Splatterhouse 2 is a HARD side scroller while Splatterhouse 3 is kinda like a Streets of Rage beat em up, but it never loses any of its gore factor. it was one of the first games to get a Mature rating and was targeted by politicians to be pulled off the shelves, like how they talk about grand theft auto now.
best part about this game is you can pop on any metal cd, especially any gore or grind you have, and start the slaughter and it will only heighten the experience, but the original music is crazy creepy enough by its self to stand out on its own.
anybody remember this game?
and fif you never played it, go get an emulator and play it, its well worth it to pass the time.
PM me if you want info or help getting the roms and shit.

This series is awesome! I remember I use to rent them constantly when I was young and play till' I became too scared to play anymore. They use to give me nightmares.

I just downloaded the whole series. Really brings back memories, Splatterhouse was one of the first games that opened me up to sick gory games. I got to thinking about all the classics I played back in the day then I remembered the king of creepy-ass games, Night Trap! I can't find any emulators on it, I guess because it was for Sega CD. If you know a place where I can download it let me know.

I couldn't believe the amount of gore in it when I was a child. I'd wait till my parents were gone, shut of all the lights ( we live alone in desolate dark woods ) and sit in the middle of the floor with openings on both sides of me and scare the shit out of myself, it was awesome.
I played through it earlier today while listening to anatomy is destiny, which I bought a little while ago...any kind of brutal metal fits splatterhouse perfectly, but especially Bloodbath's Ressurrection through carnage...it just seems to fit the levels the right amount of time and stuff...and yeah, the game gets real hard later on. and the bosses are rediculous, a giant face on the wall, a large slouch monster that eats zombies, a friggin mutated organ-octopus, its a kids wet-nightmare.
MyOwnSavior: I dunno about sega cd, I remember night trap as well, but I think for cd roms you have to have the video game cd...but not entirely sure, i'll take a look around the net and see what i can find and get back to you if I make progress.

Do you know any place where I can get a Mega Drive emulator, and roms?
cheers
