Songs that sound like eachother...
I'm sitting here listening to some random shit, and I just realised that Children Of Bodom - Silent Night, Bodom Night at 00:50 and 02:50 sounds like the chorus of In Flames - Pinball Map.
And Psycroptic - The Scepter of Jaar-Gilon (at 00:30) sounds like a part of Death - The Philosopher.
Anything you guys have noticed?
(And yes, god damnit, I'm bored)

Yes, a little bit. The first five chords are the same, except the 2nd note is a 5th lower than on The Philosopher.
And I noticed that Hillary Duff songs sound like Britney Spears. And Christina. And......Oh, what the devil do kids listen to these days???

Oh, Opeth - To Rid The Disease and Sörskogen - Mordet I Grottan.
And btw, I'm not necessarily talking about blatant ripoffs, and I'm not saying there's anything wrong with what I've noticed, I'm just kind of noting that there is a similarity between one song and another.

Most likely, since so there are so many metal bands out there, there's obviously going to be some similarity that happens by chance, it's not like they are directly copying the riffs all the time.

scythes-of-bodom.com under discography has a list of direct lifts and similarities between bodom and other bands/classical pieces
opeth ripped off the prog band Camel several times...and admit to it. there's a camel song that sounds JUST like benighted...and the song ending credits was ripped from camel too

I actually decided to check Camel out after hearing Mikael mention them in "The Making of [D&D]", and they're cool IMO. But I listen to all kinds off weird stuff.

Put the cd on repeat.. the outro of Lip Gloss and Black (ya know, the fuzzy stuff) leads into the fuzzy intro of A Song For The Optimist. Maybe it was some sort of "Brilliant" idea to open and end the cd with the same riff
or maybe not..

Yes, i think that was the idea. I like how Suffocation did that on the album Souls to Deny.

the interlude solo to Silent night Bodom night is strikingly similar to the soundtrack theme song of the Rock (nick cage and sean connery).

I know, i have no idea how they got away with that. Slayer must be cool unlike Metallica. Metallica has like a secrete police out to see if anyone steals their riffs.

Are you talking about "John Fogarty" The guy from Creedence Clearwater Revival? He made a song when he went solo and it sounded like a song from way back when he was in CCR. He was accused of sounding "too much like himself" He got the charges dismissed after he had to prove to the court that the two songs were different.

Yeah, on the First Strike Still Deadly album.
It's slowed down from the original, but it's like someone fucked up trying to play the Toxic Waltz and jsut went with it.

T666 use the chorus riff of Hammer Smashed Face but with trills instead of hammer-ons and pick-offs

Expendable Youth. I awlays thought that Disciples of the Watch and Eerie Inhabitants sounded similar. Heres a weird one. Most of the songs on Necrodeath's Black As Pitch have the same intro. Sabbath's A National Acrobat and Sabbath Bloody, Sabbath sound similar a little. thats my two cents.
