(1) Contest begins when I post my rhythm guitar track to the web and put a link here on metaltabs.
(2) You can enter as many instruments (including vox) as you like, with the potential to win $100 (US) for each winning track.
(3) You must record your track over the top of mine (or each successive winner) and re-post where metaltabs users can download it.
(4) Winners are decided by poll on metaltabs.com. I will set up the polls at the appropriate time. They will last 48 hours from the time I post 'em. Hopefully people will be responsive in voting.
(5) The contests will happen by instrument in a pre-arranged order. This is to insure that each new added instrument fits in with the rest. The order in which the contests will take place, and their timeframes are as follows:
(a) Guitar track - this track should include rhythm and lead and the contest will last seven days from the time I post the rhythm track.
(b) Drum track - You will have seven days from the time a winning guitar track is voted for on metaltabs.com
(c) Bass track - You will have seven days from the time a winning drum track is voted for on metaltabs.com
(d) Vocal track - You will have seven days from the time a winning bass track is voted for on metaltabs.com. You must write the lyrics as well as sing them. Please nothing too over the top. I am not a big your-skull-is-rotting-flesh-that-resembles-my-intestines-as-they-are-spilling-all-over-the-putrid-pavement kind of guy. I can handle some, but I'm paying for this and I would appreciate it not being TOO fucking nuts. That said...if you really need to fucking go crazy with it and that's what inspires you, OK, then go for it. Far be it from me to suppress art.
(6) Payouts will be paid as follows (sorry, I'm not rich and I've got four sons to feed. I have to pay on a schedule.) -- Guitar & Drum track, February 5 / Bass and vocal track, February 20. I think I'm going to go PayPal for the payments to make it easy. Not really sure how else to go about paying people in other countries, and I have a hunch some of the winners will be abroad.
(7) The recording and submission to a label aspect is a whole other deal, and we'll see if we even get far enough to warrant it first...
(8) Each contestent must have at least 50 posts.
(9) 8) Once you post your part, you may not re-post it. So make sure you got what you want before you post your work.
I think that's it. If not, I will post additions here before I post a rhythm track to the web. That's just so everything is clear BEFORE the contest begins.
Please post questions in this thread if you have 'em.
This thread will be updated when the contest beings and ends, including the link of where to download it.
