I just remembered my first time in the pit was to Dime thrashing out. I was at a Damageplan show and kinda had plans on gettin' in the pit, but we got close and I didn't want to lose my good view of the band. But when they started to play Walk at the end, dear god!! It was so crazy, it beats the time I was thrown through the air at a Slayer concert. Instantly, a foot to the back of the head! That's a good time! I was like "THAT'S IT, I'M GOIN' IN!!!" and jumped in that fuckin' mosh pit! One of the greatest experiences of my entire life. God bless you Dime.
Me and my drummer have allready decided that on every December 8th we shall listen to and play nothing but Pantera and Damageplan. I'll tell him about your ideas for Dime day though. Or he'll see it, he actually has a user name on here, he just doesn't visit like I do. It's EDDIE38O2.
But, yeah, whenever I have a spare Dime, I'll donate it or toss it.

Does anyone ever call him "Diamond" darrell anymore? Or was that just a CFH thing that passed...

I don't think too many people know about the pre-CFH Pantera. I heard one song called Metal Magic from then and it was quite good. But, he shall always be, Saint Dime.

man, this is just sad. i fucking met the guy after the show in Montreal last week. he stumbles is all hammered and tried to figure out the ATM for 5 minutes. we tried to help but it was no good. fucking fucked up shit. i listened to Pantera all night a couple nights ago when i found out, and made up some song on my classical in tribute entitled A Dime Short...if i never met the guy i wouldn't be this bent about it, but i did meet him, and just a week before too. ahh fuck, RIP Dime.

Hell yea. I have their second album, Projects in the Jungle. It has some of the best Dimebag/Diamond solos ive heard. Its pretty halious with all pictures of them on the back all 80's style. And they also called vinnie Vincent Paul back then too.

It's really hard to believe, since I got to see them live 11/19/04, I got to shake his hand for god's sake and he poured whiskey all over us. They took the show. People were falling off the second story balcony and they were landing right on top of me. Three of them, smacked me in the head with there shoes or fists. I molested so many chicks there too. It was a blast.
