Is headbanging silly?
When listening to some good ol' metal, most of the time I just feel like banging my head a bit to the music(if it has a consistent rythm). A few people I know claim that headbanging is rather silly. The people who have told me this are hardcore fans... so I can't help but think why they see headbanging silly and in turn they perform the stupid-as-hell hardcore dancing in moshpits and such.
Do you find banging your head to metal stupid? Oh yes, and do you think headbanging look hilarious when someone with short hair(or bald) does it? :P

I don't have any hair and I don't care if I look silly headbanging. It's just what I feel like doing. The music makes me do it. I would only hurt myself if I didn't do it. In fact I think I might even look like a hardass when I do it, kinda like Kery King. With a name like Kerry you know he is a hardass, because he must have heard it all while growing up. Headbanging is not silly, but I don't do it often because I get concussed very, very easily. A friend of mine has short hair and can headbang at the speed of light without any harm, he looks like a fucking madman with his short hair, it looks awesome. Also, most of the time music doesn't make me want to bang my head, that simple. I growl along instead. Anyone who says that headbanging is silly can't do it and is making an excuse for him/herself.

Head banging is just natural to do while listening to heavy music.
And the windmill headbanging thing is the coolest. Corpsegrinder does it well, but I'm impressed with Alex Webster doing it because hes playing super hard bass lines while head banging like that the entire song.

It's cool for the audience to watch the band headbang up on stage while playing, and it's cool for the band to see people in the audience enjoying themselves, and they often show this by headbanging...

HeadBang!!!!
Headbanging is more of a ritual that often leaves you with a headache, but a well worth it headache. Especially if your headbanging to one of the best metalcore acts in the world, even if you do have short hair(I would know), such as Adam D. of Killswitch Engage, headbanging shows how much love you have for your METAL!!!!!!!!!

what a sterotypical metalcore/hardcore/nu-metal situation someone headbanging with short hair, and it happens to be to killswitch, need i go on? |
