1) Remembering Never - fuckin amazing hardcore band, im wearing their shirt right now. the singer was sick though so it wasnt much of a show

2) Terror - another amazing hardcore band, they kept telling the crowd to stage dive so, we did. like, once every second there were people diving

3) Black Dahlia Murder - MY FUCKING GOD, my favorite band as of late and i had yet to see them live. fucking amazing, i was not disappointed at all. they played 2 new songs, both incredible. i cant say enough. fucking flawless. i met the whole band after. they're fuckin good guys

4) Unearth - i have to admit to Def and BLS that i was wrong, Unearth tune to BEADGBE. fuck tabs, ive been living a lie. i always thought they used drop B. whatever. sweet ass show. at points they made the pit erupt, and at others they made the pit stop and stare in awe. not a bad moment. another band i had yet to see live, i wasnt dissapointed. Ken Susi has "Snack on deez nutz" on the back of his guitar.

Late reply but hey. I frankly don't know. I personally fucking love BM. It's my favourite subgenre, closely followed by death and doom. I'm not one of those people who wears stupid spikes and fishnets either, band shirts and camo/plain black pants and boots for me. Maybe women are inherently evil, or maybe women see BM as something more "woman friendly" eventhough it's far from being so OR these women are goths who got hooked on BM through hearing CoF and harder stuff afterwards. It's not many other subgenres have a link to the mainstream like Cradle, eventhough they are not tr00, they do pull a certain number of people to the scene, mainly from goth. Also, little goth girlies feel hardcore because they think that the numbers of women who listen to metal are a lot thinner than they are in reality.

Black metal's as evil as a long, hot, bath, but much less pleasant. If you like it, that's your deal; I find it more unpleasant than being a child in Albert Fish's care.

It's a more accessible genre, and this is partly the fault of the 'true' people. The concept of 'true' - that only a certain, very particular style, played in a particular way, and only by musicians from one or two countries - an idea which doesn't really exist in any other form of music, automatically exludes hopeful black metallers from ever making the music they love. I like death metal and can still make it despite the fact that I'm not from Florida or Sweden; you can't make true black metal unless you're contemporaneous with Mayhem, or at least Norwegian. It's not really a huge problem if you're a more accessible band, because you were automatically disqualified from making real music anyway. As far as I can tell, only Christian Vikernes is allowed to grow or evolve in any way, and he chooses to evolve as far away from metal as his undiluted Norwegian brain lets him. Emperor became better musicians; therefore they're sellouts. If you're a sell out no matter what you do (unless you happen to be Christian Vikernes), you may as well sell out and attract people who wouldn't ordinarily like 'extreme' metal. Such as - no offense intended to BrokenCrimson - girls looking for some music that's slightly, but not too far, left of center.

I received some of the most evil looks from them, and they dress in full black coats and tall boots in the middle of the fucking summer! A friend of mine got called a poser by one of them because he had short hair and they frequently pay out Dimmu Borgir and insult EMPEROR! In my opinion, they are the real posers because they don't listen to something they could potentially like because of it's image, possibly the most conformist thing to be is to be a trad bitch. I never looked for BM. Someone very nice introduced me to metal and I just picked out BM out of his giant CD collection. Most of the stuff he has never really got me pumped. He's more of a death metal guy. Maybe, it's just becoming slowly marketable like emo once did. I used to be emo when nobody knew what emo was, but now it's essential in everyone's vocabulary and they wouldn't know a Rites Of Spring album if you took their eye out with it. I never really got into black metal to begin with, and it further alienated me by the absurd hermeticism. I suppose I could ignore this if I really liked the music - I could even ignore how absurdly idiotic our friend Mr. Vikernes is - but I don't. I respect that people can like the music, since it's not my place to dictate taste, but why worship the most ridiculous, exclusionary behavior? The concept of 'true,' as it's been explained to me, is maybe the stupidest idea ever to be introduced to music. Right now it's in a knock-down, drag-out contest with the shorts from the WHAM! video; that's how stupid it is. If you like the music: like the music, but realize when stupidity, or worse, gets introduced in the behavior.

You should get your hearing checked annually if not semi-annually. If you're a musician you're trained to hear those "raise your hand when you hear the beep." so you need to get a professional diagnostic. They can actaully test the pressure in your head and the decibals that you can take and have been taking. It's very cool. I'm actually getting my hearing checked in 2 weeks. Did you know that people in marching band reach their limit of noise pressure after only three minutes?! And their practices last for 3-4 hours.....
