There are a lot of sports that don't interest me at the Olympics but when it comes down to supporting Great Britain's athletes I'd pretty much watch anything. It's good to see one of your own competing against the best that the world has to offer and when they triumph (7 golds for GB!) it's a good feeling of national pride. The Olympics are good but I still think that the Football World Cup is the bigger event.

1) Olympic boxing is a FUCKING TRAVESTY. Short, messy, stupid, pointless amateur rules. The ABSOLUTE WORST variant of a great sport.

2) I do not want to watch Romanian dwarves somersaulting for more than, say, 3 minutes at a time. There is only so much circus a man can take.

3) Swimming is not a sport. Swimming is a way to stop yourself drowning. Diving is not a sport. Diving is falling off something and getting lucky there's a soft landing. Synchronised diving is not a sport. Synchronised diving is falling off something with peer pressure and getting lucky there's a soft landing.

4) Running IS a sport, but the interesting races go for 20 seconds or less.

6) Kickboxing. Muay Thai. MMA. Rugby. These are sports. Why no?

I often leave the Olympics on in the background as I am reading or cleaning or playing guitar or something. Rarely do I pay attention. They only seem to show 5 things- Swimming, Diving, Volleyball, Track/Running, Gymnastics. That shit's boring.

I'd definitely watch if the martial arts (especially judo), freestyle wrestling (Greco-Roman is boring as fuck, you can't even use your legs), and baseball were televised, but they are not. If they are, they must be buried on cable, and even then shown rarely. I really wanted to see Cuba vs. Japan in baseball, that would have been awesome. As it is, they showed Judo briefly, but only two matches were televised, not nearly enough for my satisfaction considering that they show hours on end of the five things I mentioned earlier. While I'm sure my sports are different than those other people like, I'm sure more people agree that they'd watch the Olympics if anything other than the 5 sports I mentioned were televised.

Cost, you say? Those designer (untraceable) steriods are mighty expensive, I hear. The American Olympic Commission has a history of discarding failed drug tests from it's own athletes and allowing them to participate in the Olympics. Maybe that's why you have so many medals? Britain isn't whiter than white by any stretch, but at least our Olympic commission doesn't try and cover it up.
