Max growls. He certainly doesn't sing. I don't know that much Pantera, because I hate them and refuse to listen to such garbage - but I think it is safe to say that Phil lets loose a few growls, no?
Growlers:
1. Matti Way
2. John Paoline
3. Erik Lindmark

Sorry, I missed that.
Randy Blythe can also get quite the growl out if he needs to.

Randall Blythe from Lamb of God. On New American Gospel he has some growling moments that sound pretty good, but in my mind he is the perfect screamer.

Johnny Morrow was in a British band called Murder One, but he died last year of a brain tumour or something.
OK, then:
Singers
Chris Cornell (Soundgarden)
Burton C Bell (Fear Factory) for his cleaner parts, obviously.
Maynard James Keenan (Tool)
Growlers
Lord Worm (Cryptopsy)
Karl, Dallas and Jon (Nile)
Jason Mendonca (Akercocke)
Oh, shouldn't this be in the Bands forum?

yeah, he rocks, he's insane live!
about the fear factory guy, I have to agree, I allways digged his vocals, but it seems he does the same thing over and over again (choir-boi style/brutal grunt style) though I really like him, fear factory played loads of shows in Holland back in the day (the bassist Christian is a dutchman, he now plays guitar or something) seen them a bunch of times, good shit, the drummer is amazing on the double bass. I allways thought he only used triggers or some shit like that!

Yeah, he's always been one of my favourite vocalists but I think Def hit the nail on the head - the growl/sing vocals get a bit repetitive after 4 or 5 albums. I think his style was truly groundbreaking though: at the time when Soul Of A New Machine was released, it was unheard of for a death metal band to incorporate clean vocals into their styling. Of course, they strayed from death metal after that album but he's still a great vocalist.

Jeff and Bill both did great growls/screams on the earlier stuff. Jeff works at a welfare office somewhere in Liverpool, go talk to him John.
By the way, I'm talking about Carc-ass.

He works in the civil service, Inland Revenue I think. I applied for the Inland Revenue graduate scheme last summer but alas, 'twas not to be. I also applied for a lower ranking job there but alas, 'twas not to be. Fucking government, how dare they deprive me of my right to work alongside one of the greatest and most influential musicians of all time! Maybe if I don't pay my income tax and National Insurance he'll be the investigator on my case...
