I always knew Earache would push the bounds of brutality to it's absolute limits. With pussies like Morbid Angel and Carcass ruining their roster, it's good to see that they are returning to their underground roots.

Well since signing them will help them out to sign more metal bands then its ok with me. As long as they dont keep on signing nu metal bands like that.

no Carcass any more john, they were just wayyy too comercial for their own good, so they decided to split up in to more underground bands, remember?

I see something else that was a mistake. They used the words Adema, Napalm Death, Carcass, and Morbid Angel in the same paragraph. Talk about a typo.

If you don't like adema, don't listen to them. I havn't heard them, and don't intend to after reading this thread.
But if Earache keep signing nu-metal, they will find out what Anthrax is.

Never heard of this band.
But from this:...
Adema stayed on the road for more than a year, touring with the likes of Linkin Park, Drowning Pool, and Disturbed. A review of Adema's debut in London's prestigious NME raved: "Adema's visceral, artfully succinct rock punch comes brilliantly wrapped in killer whistleable tunes." Rolling Stone wrote: "Moody, hard and melodic, a creative palette of soaring solos, singing lines and textures.
...I can just about fucking guess.
I hope Earache make a lot of money.

well frankly MA can't have that many expenses on a label, their shows aren't extravagant, and considering they don't exactly need a wardrobe or anything i would say expenses verse sales is at least pretty decent in their favor, my guess is it won't be long before they get a new home, century media or relapse would be retarded not to pick em up though, cause like when you think of pioneers of classic death metal morbid angel is usually somewhere in the list

Earache Records has released a statement in response to reports that MORBID ANGEL have left the company and are actively seeking a new record deal. The statement reads as follows:
"MORBID ANGEL's contract is up and Earache hasn't yet picked up the option to re-sign the band. MORBID ANGEL's manager put Earache on notice about this. We have 14 business days to address this but it seems he jumped the gun after 14 days (not all business days), saying MORBID ANGEL are now free agents. Whether Earache will resign MORBID ANGEL remains to be seen. Either way, the official date is Friday, August 6th."
Whether??? God Damn Earache must be retarded....

Signing Adema and possibly letting Morbid Angel leave their roster? I hope this isn't the start of a worrying trend at such a pioneering label as Earache.

Earache has had and still does have more queer bands than Adema, its just Adema is popular. So i doubt Morbid Angel would leave becuase of that.

Yeah, I see what you mean m=l, but what if Adema get a bigger chunk of the label's resources to record their album at the expense of more underground bands? It would surely require that Adema are very successful in order for the other bands to reap the benefits of increased income at label level. When you consider that nu-metal is on the slide, I doubt that any of the underground bands will get to see any sort of increase in funding.
Atif: A (very) simple What If? calculation can be carried out using MS Excel in order to calculate how much money those album sales are worth. Check out the MS Word attachment below for how I did it - the formulas should be showing on the screen dumps, enabling you to create your own Excel Worksheet. I'm sure you know how to do this anyway. Once you've set the Worksheet up just change the estimates at the top of the page and et viola! Note that I've also included an estimate of income from their record deal as well but you can ignore that part if you wish.

did you read any of the posts, we decided that they did it for the money that they could get and John has kindly provided the figures (applying his professional knowledge to something useful ) - which im yet to look at due to being on a linux box, void of microsoft progtams (apart from the irony of it having a microsoft keyboard and mouse), but that is not the point, the fact is
THEY DID IT FOR THE MONEY
