The music shows are generally what is popular with the most, in this case, teens and young adults. There's a market for it so they give them what they want. "The man wants a blue suit. Turn on the blue light." Probably the majority are the ones who follow the crowd of wannabe's as far as fashion and stuff goes. I'm just thinking if their had been MTV when I was in high school there would have been a bombardment of Sasoon and Gloria Vanderbilt wear because those were hot disco duds. The music would have been mostly disco to play to that crowd and CBGB's would have been THE place to go for them. But many of these people wouldn't know a banjo from a guitar either.

I don't think we're mainstream. We're artists. We don't play to people to copy someone else or to follow a trend. We're original. There's very few originals mainstream that have a craft they've developed and perfected. A lot of them are out to sell something whether it's their body or their clothes so art suffers for it. We, on the other hand, would probably offer our talents free or dirt cheap just for the sheer thrill of sharing something we've created whether we were paid or not. And if we are paid it's just a little icing on the cake. We do it cuz we love it and we do it the way we want to because our integrity as artists is involved. Look at the difference between metal rock and pop as far as lyrics and music goes. Creativity in one is largely lacking.

yeah, LBXXX. The only thing I will add to that is that when "metal" first came to MTV, Alice cooper, Guns 'n' Roses, and so on, were very much sell outs but they had much artistry. But now, bands have gone towards the fasion instead of music.

Both Fuse and MTV have so much commercials, it pisses me off. They have the stupidist shows. I'll occasionaly watch Uranium or Headbangers ball only to get mad at the stupid videos and the large amount of stupid ads. Oh yeah that Uranium chick is pretty hot to so I watch it for her too.
