i didnt like x 2. the mini game was cool but the plot sucked
my favorite FF was the anthology, FFV and FFVI. in my mind it doesnt get better, you get attached to the people in FFV, even though they're 2d. just FFV alone is 30 hours of gameplay.
i really recommend it, and if you read reviews dont believe people complaining about slow screen times. its not true, its a fast game.

I've played some of FFVI, and i thought it was cool - had to give it back to the person i borrowed it off though...
My favourite of the ones i have played (VII - X) is definately VII. Cool game

I have played all FF's between VI and IX, I like VII best, followed by VI. IX was okay, but a bit too kiddy. VIII just plain sucked

I love it 3 wasnt released in america but I downloaded the english version in a ROM file. I have played almost all of them except XI because it was online. x-2 sucked ass. It was supposed to be about them finding Tidus, but it turned into a grrrrl-power flower hour.
I was only able to play the first disc of VII. I beat it, then the screen went black when i tried playing my data. Pissed me off beyond the point of killing something. Then i had to give it back to my friend.
8 was and still is my favorite, with X right behind it. The only gripe about X was how horrendously easy it was. I need to go get VII.

I wouldnt say that the graphics are neccesarily shitty for thier time. At the time the graphics were amazing but I do see were your coming from in the 2d. I enjoy the old ones alot but Its the gameplay of 7. I like the fact that it would take you so long to max your characters up all the way.

I dind't read post of the above posts. Most of them seemed like crapto get this thread off-topic again.
I played FF-VII to FF-X. I like FF-XIII best, altough many of the "die-hard-fans" don't like it.
Besides FF-VIII is the only FF-game i didn't complete. I nearly did the final enemy and then i hit the wrong button in a really important moment. I played against this motherfucker for about an hour. I was so angry afterwards.......................

Final Fantasy kicks major ass. I didn't mind FFX-2 all THAT much. Of course the plot fucking blew, but it was fun - that was the point of it.
FFVII was probably my favourite. Got it a few months after it was released here, because it looked interesting. I still play it occasionally. I remember mastering every materia in that game.

Yeah, the Final boss in VIII was long as shit. Those 'holy wars' worked wonders. They made your whole party invincible for a time. And you could get them if you played the card game and got this one card. Can't remember which one it was.

I gave up on FF Tactics for Playstation. I couldn't get passed the 2nd fight. I couldn't use 2 people to beat 10. Fuck-asses.

I did beat that game! It is hard if you can't find enough characters, but it isn't so hard. It was the most entertaining FF game I have played, but because mine is Import, I have to go mod my new psx to get to playing it again. Give it a go! It was quite a satisfactory game.

Its more hardcore rpg than most FF's. Instead of the usual 3-4 people battle system you have, the battles are more tactical (like tactics ogre or vandal hearts). Also, you don't realy have much to do in story mode, most user input is only in battle mode. It might sound a bit dull, but it is actualy a gem of a game with a tr00 FF story

The camera system in 9 was kinda weird, it zoomed all the time into Garnet's ass. Nice ass for a video game character though

I really liked FF9, it has nothing on 7, but onece you grt past the childish cartoon style and... tails.... it's actually pretty cool. Shit ending sequence though.
8 is also really good, I love the final battle.
10 is a bit silly - break hp limit etc. theres not really any point. - but it still kept me entertained for hours...

i liked wocca and rikku, but the characters were rather 2d (metaphorically) in X

Yeah that is where they first made thier appearance. FF 1 was probably the only one where there were no specific characters and nothing was really taken from that game except for the music.

I love the Final Fantasy series. Final Fantasy VII, VIII, and X are my favorites. But out of all three VIII is my favorite. I loved the card game and the junction system. The story was a little weak, but the atmosphere made up for it. But as far as stories go, VII had the best.

VIII? That was one of the least interesting FF's for me... The deeper storylines of VII rule all...

Yes... but not only story, the materia system is the best magic system I have seen in any rpg. Too bad some materia combos made the game a bit too easy.

its a must hear, live band playing FF music... nobeo uematsu plays keyboard in the band.

I really like the orchestral soundtrack of FF.
Played by the Japanese Philharmonics!!! It's awesome, that a soundtrack from a game is playwed by such an orchestra!!!

The materia system did kick ass. I liked the fact that you could give it to just about anyone.

I've heard that live concert once, that was nice... I've got a shitload of FFVII mp3's, though they are midi i think....

There musn't be a difference betweeen MP3 and MIDI.
I've got the FFVII-MIDI-album. It's quite nice, but the orchestral version is much more better. I really love the main theme in the orchestral version and especially the Sepiroth-theme!!!! SEPIROTH! BAM BAM BAM BAAA SEPIROTH!!! |
