Pantera were fucking cool, although I think reinventing the steel is pretty average - the great southern trendkill though... thats one of my favourite albums.
I do like superjoint ritual, although they're simple musically. Although Phil is a knob end, I like his vocals.
I heard 'new found power' by damageplan, and to be honest I think it a big pile of steamy shite.

country metal can exist. there's country dudes out there that basically play thrash metal without the distorted guitars. Problem is, you guys all have a bad pre-disposition towards country music for some reason.
I'd say pantera is metal influenced by southern rock.
