First Album
What was the first metal album you guys ever had? Mine was 'The Razor's Edge' tape when I was 7 years old. My first thrash album, Pantera 'Official Live 100 Proof' I think in like 7th grade. My dad has no interest in metal, so I had to discover it all myself, with help from Transient. Input.....?

My first ever album was Use Your Illusion II by Guns 'N' Roses about 12 years ago. My first ever metal album was ...And Justice For All by Metallica, again, about 12 years ago. My first ever death metal album was Altars Of Madness by Morbid Angel which I got about 5 years ago.

My first was "Europe - final countdown". OK, it's not real metal
Then: "Sepultura - roots" For me that album wasn't metal, too.
The first CD, i called metal was "Cradle of Filth - Midian". Yes, I'm a newbie.

Yeah it hasnt effected him at all. He's just married to a corpse, eats cow rectums as his main food source, and molests little boys.

The first (metal) bands I discovered were Carcass, Deicide, Cannibal Corpse and Death. Oh yeah and Black Sabbath and Metallica too. I could not tell the order and the first album though. I think I bought "Human" by Death a long, long time ago.

I mentioned to one of the school bullies that I'd heard Morbid Angel on the radio & thought it sounded cool, but instead receiving a punch in the face, I instead got a huge pile of cds from him & a mandate to enjoy them...luckily for me I did. Too many to mention in that pile, but the first one I ever bought for myself was probably Chaos AD or Arise.
(edit edit edit!)
NO! I just realised, that it was Def Lepard's 'Hysteria'! Fuck man, I had that album when I was like 10 years old. Oh, man, they were so cool! I even got to go & watch Bon Jovi that year in Melbourne. Wow, glammy cock rock was so cool when I was young.................*sigh*..................memories.

When I was 11 I bought my first tape, it was the "two in one" of Black sabbath's Paranoid+Heaven and hell. Im surprised I still have. The first cd i ever bought was Metallica-and justice for all. Which wasnt too long after i had bought that tape.

Yeah, I just realized too I owned Def Lepard's Greatest Hits before any other "metal" cd. That was soooo cheesy... I think they had a one-armed drummer though, which is cool.

Does "Alvin and the Chipmunks Sings the Beatles" count ? It had electric guitars and drums and stuff. For my first metal album I'm not sure. I had Kansas but they were not what I'd call metal. Most of the later stuff I'd call metal was Wally's stuff I'd hear and borrow. The first ones I probably actually bought were Antrax and Audioslave and those were recently.
Someone mentioned Tull "Broadsword and the Beast". That was kick ass!! My old favorites were/are a lot of old Moody Blues and old Genesis. Awesome stuff.

First metal I heard and enjoyed was Iced Earth's Horror Show. Then the rest of iced earth followed, then I found this site, and got in touch with many other good bands.

My parents got me a small stereo thing with Stone Temple Pilots, which i gave to them a few years back, and Pearl Jam's "ten."
The next CD I remember having is Metallica's Black Album.
*edit*
First Death/Black album - Opeth - Blackwater Park.

Bastard! I've looked everywhere for Ten Black Years, but never turned up a copy.
My first thrash album was Reign in Blood after hearing Raining Blood on Vice City. Like I've said, I have had to discover metal myself, with little help from anyone, omit Transient.

Feel fortunate. Me and Transient are the only real metalheads at our school. All fucking POSERS or people into metalcore who are oblivious to the real metal world. I've tries to get them into it, but NOOOO. They stay with Godsmack and Manson and shit like that.
