What the hell happened to my ratings, I had like a good score on my tabs 5.0 on some, and now they are all down to 4.0 in one vote. WTF is this???? Did someone just give me a one on my tabs or what

Some little whore gave my Botch tab a rating of 1 a while back. I wouldn't mind if I thought that it might have had some major errors in it but for fuck's sake, play along to the CD and you'll find it's at least 95% correct. A fucking one, I tell you! I'm glad that someone saw sense recently and gave it a decent rating to compensate!

Seriously though, I'm with Corpsevomit on this one. It's not the fact that I'm worried about my score, it's the idea that someone has done it maliciously and out of spite that annoys me.

Yeah, do the above. And if you keep it up, there will be consequences. Score DOES matter - it reflects on how correct the author's rendition of the song is. They need it, to see if it needs improvements, and of course.. reassurance that they are indeed good at what they do.

I don't go by rating for anything. I admit it was cool for a little while to see myself in the top 20 ratings, but it does nothing for me personally.

I can't speak for every other tabber, but to me, the rating system is far to subjective for me to take seriously.

Although I DO vote, I really don't take other people's votes seriously. I don't avoid tabs with bad ratings, nor do I seek out tabs with good ratings. If it's a song I need a tab for, I'm going to use it regardless. I also don't use the ratings to decide whether or not a tab needs an update. I use two things for that- 1. Myself, 2. The readers. I specifically put in the headers of my tab that if anybody notices a mistake, point it out to me. If they point it out to me, I fix it. If they themselves correct it, I give them credit. It's pretty simple and pretty effective.

I also would like to point out that I don't really need reassurance from other people, because (at the risk of sounding egotistical) I realize I'm a great tabber, and other people's opinions, angry bias, and misguided pranking don't factor in to it at all.

Again, I'm just speaking for myself, I know many people take the rating system seriously.

Valid points. Though, each to their own. Each tabber has their own method of going about the ways you stated. I just gathered those facts in my previous post from talking to people. Anyway, enough debating about the rating system I think. We've been through this more than once already.
