first tell us how much you have to spend and what you're gonna use it for.

I mean, if you play live every two weeks you'll need a descent stack, if you only need it for rehearsal a combo could be all you need.

Get an ENGL Powerball or Savage head with a cab if ya have a fair amount of money but if ure skint like me, just get a B-52 ST stack or LG-100A half stack. There both pretty good and very cheap

I don't know what kind of Valvestate you have, but you might get away with getting another cab and adding it to the valvestate if it has a speaker out on the back. Just get a 4-12 and slide it underneath that combo. More cone surface = more air moving. If that doesn't get it, then all you have to do is add a head and WALLA! A halfstack, which will get you through just about any gig.

I know a dude that sells a 1 year old Powerball head for 1300 euros. If anyone's interested, feel free to ask

I just got through looking at my valvestate vs265. it's a stereo 65 watts a side combo. It has, on the back, stereo output for external speakers at 8 ohms. you could get two 8 ohm cabs to add on. Or, if you wanted to just use one more cab, you could get a stereo cab that's 8 ohms a side, or a 4 or 16 ohm speaker cab and wire it to stereo yourself. I think the behringer cab might work out, I can't think of another stereo cab right now. This is it:

We've already discussed this here, but anyways, i have a valvestate 100 watt head running through a 4x2 jcm900 cab. Theres 2 overdrives on it. The first one is garbage, the second is awesome. To get the best sound i have to play with my low-mid-high, fx loop, and contour knobs. I also have a button called power dimension that changes the sound to a killer distortion. Im not sure if you have all these settings on your VS, but if you do im sure you can get a good sound out of it.

I ran this valvestate head through a couple different cabinets, and the jcm900 made a huge difference in sound quality compared to the rest. Its still not as warm sounding as a true tube amp and it never will be no matter what you use. If your going to go spend the money, buy a tube amp like a jcm combo or something instead. Im switching to a jcm head soon too.

I'm not arguing on that the valvestates suck, that's a given. I tried to run mine with a cerwin vega 15" monitor in the extra speaker jack. It helped the tone a lot, I actually got some ass out of it, but really it still sounds like a raspy piece of shit. It would probably cut through the mix real good though. Suprisingly though, I've got a friend who came over to record and he decided to use the valvestate. He dialed up this nasty mid heavy tone and I hit record. Well, it worked for what he wanted, it got in the mix and held its own, and seperated itself from the bass, but truly after all the tweaking I could do, it still sounds kinda 80's rock tone. But he's an 80's kinda guy so...

Check out this mp3 if you want to hear my valvestate. I ran it straight to my computer, no effects, no filters, nothing, just amp. My friend threw some drums on it after for fun. I think its got a pretty decent sound but maybe thats just my opinion.

I myself am in a Death metal band. I recently got a Peavy XXL and slanted cab. Ill tell ya it works great. You get a great punch. So i recomend getting what I got or do what I did and look around at you guitar stores, bring your guitar, and try out their half stacks. You cant go wrong.
