KERRY KING'S SET UP?
Anybody know? well i know he uses b.c. rich guitars, d'addario string's, a fernandes sustainer on like 1 of his guitars, (i think an emg spc control on one of them like jeff does) EMG 81/81 humbuckers, MXR 10 Band Equalizer, Kahler Tremolo's (Marshall Mode four 350 amp) but i dunno what the other shit is he uses some discontinued model digitech thing or something.
(i'd really like to know what digitech thing he uses i think he said in guitarworld magazine)

Seve answered eveything you should need to know. He uses the JCM 800 NOT the mode4. And he uses MIDS and alot of them.

another thing, hes got EMG PA2 preamps in his guitars, giving 20dB of gain. this shit makes my 89s and 2203 amps shred and i reckon this would be a big part of his sound also. well it sounds killer.

In one of my guitar worlds Kerry King says what his EQ settings are. I'll post them if anyone wants to see them. I just bought a Voodu Vaulve. It kicks butt. I'd love to get his presets.

Kerry Kings tone isn't that special
If you want something like his tone, then just fuck with your amp for a while. That should work, it works for me. If I like someones tone, then I just fuck with my settings untill I have something like it. Some tones cant really be duplicated. Kerry Kings can definatly be duplicated. Give it a try.

My best guess is that if its a Digitech, then its probably a metalmaster pedal. If not, maybe a Hot rod distortion??

Ive seen him mention his eq in interviews. Kerry dosent seems to care if you cna emmulate his sound.

My VTM 120 can get a close Hanneman sound straight out of the amp, but I cannot get enough crunch to sound like Kerry. I use a MT-2 which I would like to add is a piece of shit. I do pretty much get my own tone, though.

He uses an MXR Equalizer to boost the signal for more gain, and for mids. He said something about an old BOSS 10 Band EQ also.

i think tis funny how they have the MXR 10 band eq (120 bucks) and the MXR KK 10 band eq..... which is the same fuckin pedal but with like 2 little red tribal thing painted on it (porbably like 150 bucks)
