strings.. again
my band plays in C-standard tuning. currently i have 11's on my guitar that has a floating bridge and is tuned to e-standard.
heres my question, what gauge strings would i need to tune down to C standard with the leas amont of modification to my truss rod and bridge (hight, springs) settings? i was thinking of 12's or 13s. what do you think?

If you don't mind thickness, I'd say go for 13-52 or heavier if you can find it, and just deal with any "spring fucking" you might need. IMO, it's not that much of a pain. But maybe that's just me.

11's. 13's wont fit, and 12's are just stupid. Learn to adjust your shit.

Hell yeah. I tune the same way with 11's at C tuning.
12's and 13's are jazz strings, no damn need for that.
I would dare you to put 13's on there just for the hell of it and try tuning to a C...more than likely, if you have a cheap or standard guitar, especially like a Jackson Dinky Reverse, you'll fuckin crack and snap the slot for the string....
Heh.....

I'm not having any problems with 13s in C.
Would the (apparently allmighty :P) BLS care to explain his "Learn to adjust your shit."-statement? Would be appreciated...

Adjust the height of the bridge, adjust the tension of the springs and the number if needed. And if you use 13's or 12's you'll most likely need a nut shim anyways. I tune in C# using 10's on a floyd fine.

As far as I can understand, none of the adjustments you mentioned are going to affect the string tension. Am I wrong?

I had 13s and tuned to C#. Not because I don't know hwo to adjust my shit but because a moderatly high action and very heavy strings provides you with a much fuller tone and awesome sustain. It also makes you fingers stronger and increases speed.

ok i got strings today, d addarios. theyre supposed to be 10's for a 7 string guitar, but i didnt use the ten. i guess it's a 13.. hm... the low e is like a 56 and the high is thirteen.i bet these will make my fingers stronger! it's kind of a big leap from 11's all nice and coated to these bare rough 13's!
