Guitars that met this discription...

I'm buying a guitar, and i'm not looking for a 'metal' guitar or anything like that, I'm looking at a guitar that has the following.

Neck-through-body or set neck construction
Non-trem bridge
Perferably Ebony fretboard
REAL pickups (non-duncan designed or other cheap knock offs)
Perferably Strat or V body style.
$1000 or less
Brand name doesnt matter to me.

So far all I've seen was the LTD Dave Mustaine signature, a Jackson, a few Schecters...

I think your the one that mentioned ran guitars, so why dont you get one? One problem is that they come with EMG's and you dont like emg's...

tried the Soloist yet? or some nice Ibanez? a used kramer from the old days?

pu's can allways be replaced...

tried epi's flying V? or hell, a les paul? I really don't like Epi's though, you're better off getting a used gibson.

did you play the LTD yet? everything I played with LTD on it was shit...

New for Jackson is a string-thru USA Soloist. Should be available soon.

Problem solved.

i'd suggest a neck through jackson or an esp horizon, if you don't like the pickups, then just replace them.

I already have a Jackson USA Soloist.

No, I havnt played the LTD yet, but i'm just looking at guitar to go try out. I'm thinking about a Ran. Jackson prices have gone up, so I USA Jackson is like 1600 these days, my max price is 1000. I only payed 1100 for my Soloist but Fender has jacked up the prices.

What? Jackson MSRP haven't changed at all, it really depends on how much your dealer is taking off.

warmoth has all sorts of stuff, mostly bolt on, but they have a few neck through options.
i'm not sure you could get one from them for $1000 though.

I have already built myself a bolt-on with the help of Warmoth. I no longer have the time due to school, girlfriend, and the 2 bands I'm in to spend the time building a neck-through.

Go with shecter. The C-1 has had really good talk and I have an A7 which is freaking kick ass even with those knock off Duncan Designed pu's. I plan to buy from them again real soon.

i don't like how most schecter necks feel, compared to guitars like ibanez, jackson, and esp. they're just weird feeling. and settling for duncan designs is like settling for a squire or epi instead of a fender or a gibson.
