I need Speaker repair
one of my scorpion speakers from my peavy amp got a hole in it. it's at the edge of it and i have no money. this sucks because i cant hear my amp anymore during band practice. does anyone here know how i can go about repairing this problem? i cant duct tape it because it flaps around like crazy and when i palm mute, it makes a sound like a fart, and i cant deal with that.
does anyone have any suggestions cuz this is really screwing me over.
thanks.

you're basically fucked...
get a new speaker, it might not even be fixable (or more expensive than a new speaker) is the hole in the conus or the rubber ring around the edge?

i'm assuming the conus is the mass that surrounds the bubble in the middle... it's on the conus near the rubber ring.

then you're fucked. if its a paper conus it can't be fixed, maybe you can try and ask some guitar shops or something but you're prolly of cheaper buying a new speaker.
how did you do that anyway???

i got the amp off ebay, well my mom did anyway. it's pretty old. i looked at the specs of the speakers, the cone is made out of impregnated cellulose.

i fixed a few speakers using various things such as stickers, tape, glue, bannanas ......
the only one of them that worked was crazy glue. If possible get the speaker material exactly where it should be (probably together with no gap in it of course) and then put a TINY bit of glue on it. i still got it and it sounds exactly like my other identical one but not at super high volumes obviously.
other then that, buy a new goddamn speaker theyre not super expensive.

Listen, man, don't bother even trying to fix it. I had a hifi speaker without a grill and something was thrown at it. The hole sounds like it's only part of the problem - it'd have to be fairly big to flap around and be the whole prob. I reckon the "plopping" noise is from the bobbin rubbing on the speaker magnet, as knocking a speaker can misalign it.. It'd probably cost more to fix than buy a new speaker.
Try to find one like this with a high SPL (around 94dB), and impedance that matches your amp, (as well as power rating that should be a close match):
