The main components of a death metal tune...
Well, in my experience, you should have a mixture of elements in death
metal tune. Examples like pick scraping, choppy palm muting, slight palm muting, heavy,slow,fast, grinding riffs...hmmm.. Basically, you can add just about anything to a death metal tune. But you can have all of that, and if the singer isn't singing death vocals, it might not be considered death metal. There's all kinds of death metal out there today. Grindcore, Gore, Industrial,Technical,etc. For beginners, I would refer to Old Obituary, Napalm Death, Morbid Angel and Deicide for some samples...
