True. But the same was said about Sony and video games in '94. But.. this is music. So don't listen to me.

Good idea.
I heard from a trustworthy source that this band is total crap. It's rock trying to pass as metal. Doesn't work.

I just got the CD, and its not bad, but its not great, its about a 5 1/2 out of 10, the song with Max, is my fav. and the one with Cronos (SP?) from venom is good too.

I'm very skeptical about this project. Dave Grohl doing a metal album would probably be about as good as Slayer doing a punk album...

That is the only track I've heard and wasn't that impressed. If that is the best, what are the other tracks like?

Well, I got home late, and I only got to hear most of the album, but the one with King Dimond is bad, the one with Lemmy Is ok, but like I said, Max sounds like hes singing back in the old Sepultura days (Around "Roots", better than Soulffly, hell when I saw Soulfly opeing for Slayer in Mississauga, the only time the place whent really nuts was when soulfly was on stage was, when they walked on, and when the did "Roots Bloody Roots").

Yes I know they did a punk covers album as I happen to have had the misfortune of spending hard earned cash on it. I was attempting a little sarcasm back there.
And in my opinion it did actually suck. Big ones too. In fact it sucks such big ones that it only took me one listen to come to that conclusion.
I'm also pretty sure that if I bought Probot I would have the exact same opinion as I do of Undisputed Attitude, which is that musicians should stick to what they do best. In Dave Grohl's case that is writing pop-rock with the Foo Fighters and in Slayer's case... well we all know what Slayer do best and it certainly isn't punk.
I could of course be wrong and the erstwhile Mr. Grohl could well have produced a record to rival any extreme metal album you could care to mention.
I very much doubt it though.

yeah Probot is not very good.
Its going back to the grunge days, which i love, but its just not good grunge.
definately not worth the buy, and probably not even worth the download...i got rid of it a couple days after anyways.

i do like some Foo Fighter songs, they have some pretty intelligent chord progressions and harmonies sometimes (i don't think you'd hear it on the radio though, they're usually the non-radio tracks)

I know that the album has already became available, but I am still skeptical about it. I have heard both sides about this one. some say good, some say bad. I will buy it just to see for myself what I think about it.

What? I couldn't understand what the object and the purpose of that sentence was but I presume you were saying that all Slayer albums suck as much as a Probot one. Please elaborate.

I haven't heard Probot. I can't say it sucks. I've heard Slayer and they're definitely shit. It's elementary from this point - elaborated.

But humour none-the-less. Who says I was being sarcastic anyway? I actually would prefer you to attempt to "tear shit bands a new arsehole" while I get on with my life.

You can start right from the beginning.
Black Sabbath.
There's one.
Pantera. There's another.

well at least you got Black Sabbath right.
Pantera is good driving music, but their nothing compared to the likes of Immolation, Cephalic Carnage, Death, Cryptopsy, Martyr etc...
