Death Metal gear
Hi, im sindagon,
i play guitars in a death metal band called haematuria. we play brutal grind death style. For now the only effects i got is a zoom 707II. i managed to put together quite some brutal sounds but im looking to perfect my sounds to resemble cannible corpse, disgorge, death, cryptopsy sounds etc. what do you guys suggest?

I'd suggest either buying a decent amp with good distortion for example any Engl amp, or perhaps a decent effects pedal such as a Boss Gt6 or Me 50 , or even a zoom Gfx8 i think it is.

an old school crate g1600 xl head and a nice 4x12 cab of somekind. you can pick one up on ebay for under $200, 160w solid state and its got two channels plus reverb. they dist on those things can get so harsh and dirty sounding, in fact, i think one dude from canibal corpse might even use one, or a similar model.
digital fx pedals shouldnt be your main source for dist, they just don't sound real. its all about analog dist, tube or s.s., but i don't like digital dist at all.
