yeah, they last a bit longer, but they're quite expensive compared to normal strings, at least, over here...

I usually buy ernie ball's but I've been over to elixirs for monhts now

When I have cash I buy elixirs but usally I have to buy earnies. Its quite a change though you go from rough coiled stings to polyweb wrapped "slippery" stings or vice versa. Only draw back is that after youve played lix's for a month or 2 and you go buy "normal" strings you have ro get your calious's back.

Is that the bolt on one doc? I also noticed it had no trem But i usually just use GHS or D'Addario. I change my strings monthly so i dont think they really get worn down to much.

bolt on neck.

I've played some of dime's sig guitars, the expensive fuckers too. and I don't think they're worth the cash at all. I don't like the shape either, its uncomfortable as hell, but hey, dime is a great guitarist.

D' Addario's for me.... being in a crazy band causes me to break alot of strings, at least one or two a week, thats with an hour long practice 5-6 days a week, and 1-2 shows a month. i've played ernies, but they don't last long, i've played elixers, but they feel kinda fake, i've played all sorts of off brand strings, and i didn't like any of em better than the good ol' addarios, but every body has their preference.

true, d'addario's are cheap ass too, so you can replace them every 2 weeks. ernie balls don't last long but while they last they sound kickass.

breaking strings is not because of the strings, ofcourse you can break strings every now and then but if its the same ones over and over again you've gotta sand down your bridge saddles

Yeah a friend of mine came showing off with Elixir strings but the low E broke after merely two weeks of playing, haha.

I used d'Addarios 46 - 09, badass strings and not very expensive.

i rock the 9's, but i just disabled the bridges in my ibanez's so i could go 10s, plus it wont go out of tune when i break a string in the middle of a show or something.

Learn to adjust your floyd. I use 10's on mine just fine, and at one point even used 11's. Its worth all the b/s and for the problem of it going outta tune a tremsetter or sumthing alike should help with that

I've used elixers on my acoustic, and with regular playing i found that they kept their sound for along time. But for guitar i used d'addario.
What are good strings for bass?
