Ibanez RG750
Yeah fucks,
is there ANYONE that can tell me more about this model?
it's a 89-90 RG and I can buy it for about 400 bucks. its discontinued but the guy who owns it now claims he bought it for thousand bucks back in the day,
http://www.ibanezregister.com/image...rg/750-1991.jpg
thats the exact same model, now I don't know how good the old edge trems are, I found that the new ones in the 03 models sucked badly. the years before in the RG5** where good though.
anyways, all it needs is a mirror pick guard and maybe a duncan invader or emg in the bridge pos. I haven't played it yet but will do that next week I guess. so, any thoughts you lot?

that's pretty much the same thing as a Rg570 or 550.
it's kind of an old guitar, 400$ is a bit much for it's age (it might be worth it you got a good case)
1000$ sounds very hard to believe, unless he got ripped off
you can get a newer Rg570/550 for 300-400 on ebay (i got mine with a case for 300$, but i got a somewhat good deal) and they have All access neck joints, which is better for soloing.
i'm pretty sure the Edge back then was just as good as it is now.
a side note, the new 03's Edge are good, except you have to make a modification to them:

if you buy guitars from that guy (he won't rip you off, many people have bought from him), he'll do the mod for you i think.

I did some research, the rg750 was the prestige model of his days (89-90-91) and the only thing above the 570 back then (and ofcourse the jems, uv's, js's etc)
it actually did cost a shitload of money back then, factory price was around 900 bucks, so maybe he got put of just a bit, he's selling the case with it though, but I agree that 400 is a bit much for a 14 year old guitar. however, the pickups on this baby are dimarzio factory mades, ibz/usa/dimarzio, the bridge is a blue velvet pu. rocking
the looks are allright, I got some pictures send by the guy, nice white outline around the neck and headstock, gorgeous ruby-red finish and nice sharkfins. strings need change and I suspect it needs to be setup properly, he hasnt played it for years, gonna check it out next week, I got him to sell it for 350 bucks including original case. I guess thats a better deal then an rg550, which go for at least 400 here (yeah, stinking dutchies) ebay sellers usually dont ship guitars abroad, too much of a hassle/costs.
I'll let you know how it goes, thanks for the tips atif.

Hey,
My Ibanez RG 570 is almost similar to yuor except a little newer. I boguht it for 950 bucks tax and all. Thats a good deal because they dont make RG's like they used to. When I hear my RG and another newer model RG through the same amp I really like mine better. My advice is to go with the earlier models.

yup, I've had it for a while now and I totally love it, the dimarzio's do a great job and the edge trem is just as good if not better then an OFR, much better then ibanez's these days.
and.. I love the feel of the used Wizzard I neck, cool stuff, kinda like vintage shred guitars

that 750 looks pretty nice.. i've heard they're basically just like a 570. i bought a 370 about 2 months ago and totally fell in love with the feel, so last week i bought a 570 off ebay for $300 with case, mint condition.. it rocks. mine's a 2000 rg 570 with the edge trem, and it's a fantastic trem. i put the tone zone and air norton combo in it, just left the s1 in the middle for now since i can't afford an hs2, but these 2 humbuckers really kick ass. my roommate has a 421 with the 570 neck, it has the v8 and v7s, and they're good.. but many my dimarzios rock compared to the vX kind. i have the v8 and v7 in my 370 and never play that thing. it's for sale for $300 + shipping if anybody want sit, mint condition plus pickup upgrades :P
1000 is pretty ridiculous, but they were expensive to buy new, for sure. 400 wouldn't be a bad deal at all, just not a crazy deal. a week or 2 after i bought my 570 on ebay, i saw a 520 quilted sapele with case, mint condition, go for $227! i love my 570, but i would've bought that instead. lots of them go for around 300.. some are in better condition than others, though. i waited about a month til i got my deal.. i wanted one that was totally 'new'.
