I love this band, my friend gave me their 2000 cd, Killswitch Engage, Their song Vide Infra is a very good song, I like their beat.... good songs and a good band, I am not against them at all, what do you think?

KsE is a very good band, not as technical or anything as most of the stuff I listen too, but they write good stuff. Adam D. is an amazing musician, he's like the Devin Townsend of metalcore. He's produced a lot of other bands and while not only writing most of Killswitch's stuff, he recorded almost all of their first album by himself.
Plus he's hilarious, I met him at Ozzfest over the summer. While they played he wore a baseball helmet and really really short cut-off shorts and was shouting all these typical crappy things that a "metal" band "usually" says like "see you in hell, motherfuckers" and "...........motherfuckers" but you could totally see he was joking around.
I was bummed when Jesse left the band because he was a really talented singer but Howard is just as good, if not better, in my opinion.

My favorite songs are "Vide Infra", "Rise Inside" (the end is heavy as hell), "Self Revolution" and "Temple from the Within."

I've seen them live twice and on both occasions they didn't disappoint. The first time was when Jesse was still the vocalist. Howard's good but I thought that Jesse was slightly better.

I've got their albums too and put it this way, I'd rather listen to KsE than any of the crap on MTV or MTV2.

I personally, have never seen KsE on MTV2 in the UK. I never said that I didn't watch MTV2 either, I guess I just don't hang around waiting for 1 good video to come on. If there are specialist shows I haven't seen them because I'm usually doing or watching something else in the evenings.

I respect your opinion but speculating to what I meant by my words is a pointless exercise because they mean exactly what they mean literally in the post, ie, I'd rather listen to my KsE CD than watch the crap on MTV or MTV2. I completely agree. When I first got into metal I tried to be a "metal purist" and decide what is "real metal" and what is not. Not anymore, after broadening my musical tastes a bit. I can find enjoyment in ALMOST any music, although metal .... and especially Death metal and Metalcore are my favorites. I think it is childish to trash a specific band, or sub genre just because it isnt your taste.

As far as KSE goes, I think they are pretty talented. Some of the material sounds perhaps a bit rushed, but they have some good songs.

Killswitch Engage's new cd is alright...lot more melodic and toned down to much in my opinion. I thought their 2000 release had some good songs on it like Temple From the Within.

Their new singer isn't nearly as good as their older one...he might look cooler but he can't do the stuff the older singer can do as well. I think he added to much of his other band...Blood Has Been Shed in the new KsE cd.
