ok this great song by white zombie. not everyone may know the song but nearly everyone will recognise the main riff. what i wanna know though is what the guitarist (i heard someone refer to him as just j) uses to get the sound he does. is it just loads of distortion with heavy palm mutes or other effects aswell?

sounds like either some whammy bar action or a tremelo effect is bein used on some parts.
